  How about a mixture of formats?  For example:  We could all play a WGT Single Play event (9 or 18 holes) and then take the top 4, 8 or top 12 and pair them up in Match Play.  As long as match play is 9 holes, I'd assume it would be easy to get all matches in regardless of time zone. Edit: Maybe you go with 6 and give the top two finishers in the Stroke portion a First Round bye? That would put importance on finishing in the top 2 spots in the Stroke portion.

  To start, maybe a straightforward 9 hole stroke play, 1v1 knockout? 16 is a good number for that
