gfs - the irons being discussed are $30, not $40.
I agree that WGT will be in beta as long as it is in existence, mostly due to liability issues. Once they are no longer in beta they will have to be able to prove to juries in class action lawsuits all over the world that the loss of credits by customers due to fraud and disconnects aren't their fault. Right now they can hide the liability behind the "beta" label.
As for the price of virtual irons being retarded? Not to a lot of people. To those who play games here and depend on winning credits to pay for their WGT recreation, the clubs are well worth the money. The clubs are the tools of their trade, so to speak.
Some players have amassed hundreds of thousands of credits with very little to spend them on. To them, 3,000 or 4,000 credits amounts to petty cash. Almost meaningless.
Still others have set their sights on tier or average goals and see the clubs as a means of achieving those goals. That sense of accomplishment that comes with it could make the club price very worthwhile to them.
There are also people who simply want to have the best. The best car, the best house, the best of whatever. To them the best virtual clubs are worth the price.
