What is hard for me to understand is when someone is so pi$$ed off at the game that they feel they have to come to the forums and  complain about how WGT is jerking them around. What is the point? We have all heard these many complaints a zillon times. Why not take a break for awhile, take a deep breath and see if something else interests you. Works for me. Just a thought.

I just wish all these fancy clubs and balls would disappear and skill somehow could be restored to a decent level.

Wishful thinking on my part.   :)

Maybe not. There may be a way for WGT to tap into this "lost" income from the top scorers. Take your idea of limiting the clubs-suppose there was a section of WGT that you were to subscribe to on a fee basis where everyone used the same clubs and VEM was not factored in?

There could be some possibilities there depending on how they would set up the competition. Averages could be true and actually reflect a player's abilities while really making that particular field level. Leaderboards would mean something and they could go back to awarding real prizes without fear of someone scamming the system.

There was definitely a thread recently where this idea was paraded, a tourney where all players are limited to specific clubs and balls. The entry mechanism would have to be very precise.

But it did garner some support, it just needs co-operation from WGT.

Maybe the clubs specified ( say g10 ) would automatically become free to rent upon entry to the tourney, and would automatically expire once play was complete.

Yeh there is VEM in putting for sure as I for 1 experience it EVERY rd I play I have atleast 1 or 2 lipouts, that for no reason should have went in the cup.

Can we say getting very FRUSTRATED in the game play lately.

The 3 click meter Tourney on Cabo was the first test of an "equipment specific" tourney. That's the thread you're talking about. I think during the coming year WGT is going to expand the idea and offer greater Tourneys with specific equipment like starter clubs and ball only. Also, the idea of having this available for CC Tourneys is in the works. I don't believe they'll have tourneys with specific equipment that will need to be purchased or rented even for free.

That would work for sure YJ. But.... as long is Vem is not a factor, because if Vem were figured in.... would be no different then what we are doing now.

Got very good feeling they would be a big hit. Probably make regular Vem tourneys obsolete.....lol.

G10's and WGT Sd balls would be the best though. Bring back the long lost art of putting.

Or...... do something with UL .... add shot shaping and give it a tuneup... and we are on our way.

Think bigger than just changing a tournament. I'm talking about doing something similar to what Links did and have it on a subscription basis. Another arm of WGT, if you will.

You bought Links and owned it but here, you'd pay to be a part of that group and play pure peers.  Pay to play with the exact same equipment as everybody else. Not Nike/R11 stuff either. More like those G20s or i15s. Turn it into a real test of golf skill. Well, as real as a game could be, anyway.

The deviation built into the clubs takes care of having to use VEM and would add the luck element. After all, you can recover from a deviated approach with your putter if the shot was the correct one to begin with. And none of this average saturation crap, your average is what you're shooting and would change every round.

I really think the game would become very level and realistic on the leaderboards. The question is, how much is it worth to both sides?

Hmm.... i say.. that would be awesome. But..... in thinking about this i don't see a way for WGT to make a buck.

If was done correctly most all of the decent players would prefer this type of play.

They would have to charge a huge price to do this though.... no more $6 sleeve ball usage.. no need for $40 irons sets.

The reason the game is like it is now...... Money!  Would be like almost undoing what they have already done.  And.... IMO in the quest to make the buck... ruined the game.

I think the price they would have to charge to do this would put most players off.

Shame its got to be about the money.... if this game is here in two years from now..can't wait to see what a sleeve of balls will cost then.

Could even possibly price themselves out of business. Seen it happen too many times.
