mantis0014: Off the Blacks this distance is pretty true, but off the Whites the distance can be wrong. St.A #9 is a perfect example, I think #10 aswell.
Excuse me, it's no difference from the tips, we only have less chance to reach the green (366 @STA#10). This, IMHO, was the motivation of Alberich's rant: He hit 331 for 330, perfectly close to the scorecard distance which on #10 is to the left pin, but ended up in a long miss because the active pin (in the green front, cf. his screenshots) is at 317, 13 yds shorter.
