When's a gimme not a gimme? When it's 6.6ft away from the hole on a fast sloping tournament green at BPB...

    but not according to WGT.

They gave a pro the long shot as a gimme and my straight shot from 2.1ft was not given a gimme option.

Am I misunderstanding something or has WGT redefined how a gimme works?

Here's the News page when the Gimmie was launched. It says all the conditions that gimmies can be taken I think.

that miserable feature needs to go away
    gimmies are given, not taken.

Reading the blog about gimmes it clearly states that pros and above can only take a putt  2 and under and hacks and amateurs can only take a putt 4 feet and under. So WGT didn't give a pro a 6.6 foot putt.

However the OP could have, probably by mistake ,conceded a 6.6 foot putt. But his opponent would not concede his 2.1 foot putt.

Unless there is a bug with the gimmes that is the only way it could have happened.

If both players were pro and above the only option for gimmes is practice mode.

No borntobesting you are wrong! Everything is exactly as I described. It was a practice skins game. Call it a bug or what you will but please don't insult me by saying that I made a mistake. Another player was given a gimme from just over 5ft away in the same game.

Point is this is either happening my fault or design so clearly if the rules state gimmes are given for shorter distances then something isn't working.

Just playing a Skins game and a player took a gimme on a tournament green (H12 Olympic Park) from 6.9ft away!

This is a major bug. Just had an opponent take a gimme from 7.5ft and win the hole when it should have been a tie at best. There's big problems with this gimme thing.

    Which tiers would benefit?

So far I've seen hacks, amateurs and pros getting gimmes from long distances, not the 4ft as claimed by WGT. Tour Pro + all seems to be within 2ft.

Pros should have 2 ft only - another dimension of this wrong programming.
