There's this saying I hear all the time at work ... don't get your meat at the same place you get your bread ...

maybe there should be one that goes .... don't get your sushi at the same place you get your Haggis.

Are you sure it's not the Haggis that smell like that?  lol.

Me too. In my head. It says "you got one shot" Both, had their shot. While I do have some Scotish seed, evidently, it isn't enough. I have zero Oriental connection and except for Mongolian BBQ, Schezwan, and some picky other novelty slop, I avoid the trained mobs. When I go to the beaches, I notice all the asian fishermen throwing nothing back. They, as a habit, throw nothing away. They chop up the catch, of dubious variety, and when done, they scrape all of the residue giblits, including gut & eye bits, into a large pot. add water, and garlic, simmer, and... EUREKA !!! special, secret soup at $11.95 a copy. No they are always 'coming up'.....so,for me. El PASO

1842 - Arthur Sullivan of "Gilbert & Sullivan"

1883 - Georgies Papanikolaou ~ Greek Doctor & inventor of every 15 year old girl's 'bestess buddy', the Pap smear...it would have been cool if they called it the "Papanikolaou Smear"...no? Greek? They do enjoy kinky stuff

    also

I picked up this remarkable Avo Uvezian, Avo #5; a 7.5" x 52 Churchill, beauty with workmanship & quality that will bring tears of joy to eyes. What a masterpiece! I shall "pop it's cherry" during my next golf date...maybe today...gotta love premium 'stogies'...it isn't actually "golf" without them.

I've got a long flight ahead of me later today ... my GPS watch is going to be jumping forward at a record pace ... unlike that flight where it kept hopping back an hour and gained a day in the process, now it's time to pay for those gained hours and that lost day!

That Rucker dude is pretty darn good...but I never understood the "hoopla" surrounding the 'Blowfish' thing.

                                              Happy Day to Israel

1316 - Charles IV ~ King of Bohemia & Holy Roman Emperor

1553 - Margaret of Valois ~ wife of Henry IV

1686 - Daniel Fahrenheit ~ invented the thermometer

1710 - Adolph Frederik ~ King of Sweden

1727 - Thomas Gainsborough ~ English Painter without equal ( my opinion ) While "Blue Boy" is his most famous work, and a visit to the Huntington Library in San Marino, CA will, perhaps, show why...as you enter the grand gallery there, your eyes will pop out of your head as you gaze at a room full of Gainsborough & Joshua Reynolds masterpieces dominated by Jonathan Buttall ~ the "Blue Boy". However, my favorite Gainsborough is "Portrait of Mrs. Siddons", who was, in her time, the greatest, most famous actress in the history of Drury Lane...many would say of all time. Certainly equal to, perhaps better than, the great Meryle Streep...But this is about Gainsbourgh, not them.

1771 - Robert Owen ~ England Factory Owner & Socialist....W0W! Someone please help my little brain and explain to me how it mixed?...how it went?

1881 - Ed Walsh ~ American Baseball Pitcher with a lifetime ERA of 1.82...not bad

1883 - Julian Eltinge ~ Greatest Female Impersonator...maybe like Hillery

    Plus other bon mots

in 1643, Louis XIV became King of France at age four upon the death of his father, Louis XIII. He became known as the "Sun King" because he ruled everything under the sun. Gotta love Royalty...just as Jefferson did

in 1796, English physician Edward Jenner inoculated 8-year old James Phipps against smallpox by using cowpox matter

in 1804, the Lewis & Clark expedition to explore the unknown Louisiana Territory as well as the Pacific Northwest, left camp near present-day Hartford, Illinois...to compare this mind-numbing expedition to something of today, it would be equal to man's trip to the moon...really, fact of life

also, I pray Sister Kat will provide a little cream for all
