What's the best way to lower your average.

at 59.24 it seems I have to shoot 9-under on a 9 hole round to drop avg by a tenth.

    Here's the best way...

Join a CC that lets you make your own tournaments. Make a tournament for Wolf, back nine, easy conditions, low wind, from the easy tees. Make it unlimited times and make it for seven days. You will lower your average quickly.

Stay away from Par 3, Par 5, and Custom Courses since they cannot lower you average.

Also consider St A's front, Bethpage front, Kiawah back, and Pebble Beach front.

Use a premium ball for better control too.

Get better at the game and shoot better scores.  Anything 29 or below should lower your average.  In fact, shooting 30's would even do it if you still have some 31's or higher within your top 750 ranked rounds.

Or you could go the way that DuFuss suggests and play easy-tee tournaments with low winds on easy courses.  It won't make you any better at the game, but it will definitely artificially lower your average.

I think you mean by a hundredth rather than a tenth.

Because of the number of ranked rounds the average is based on (750), there's no doubt that it's slow going as you approach the average need to tier up. But as Sam notes, scores of 29 (5 to 7 under for 9 holes, depending on course) should lower your average (even if very slowly).

Hang in there and just keep plugging away. I will happen.
