Anyone know how to quote from one post in a thread and then go to another post in the same thread and quote from that..encompassing both quotes in the reply ?

    If that makes sense  lol

    Gratefully

    Andy

Click the quote button from the first post you wish to quote so that the text goes into your message.

Click CTRL + A to select all of the text then click CTRL + X to remove it from the post box.

Go to the second post you wish to quote and click reply.

Click quote to put the second post quote into your message.

Make sure the cursor is at the end of all the text then click CTRL + V to paste the first post quote underneath the second quoted post.

The more I read this the less sense it makes, haha, good luck though Andy.

My way is a little harder than Scott's. I go to the first post I want to quote from and hit reply. I quote what I wish to quote then highlight it and right click and copy it. Back out of the post without posting it.

Then I go to the post I wish to put the quote from the first post in. Click reply and quote what I wish to quote from that post then right click and paste the first quote into the post.

Make a quote from one article.

    Copy&paste from the other article into the same reply. Add [ q u o t e ] before and [ / q u o t e ] after it, omitting the blanks - voila: Two quotes.

    Example:

Anyone know how to quote from one post in a thread and then go to another post in the same thread and quote from that..encompassing both quotes in the reply ?

Mine is probably the hardest method of all if I wish to quote several comments made in a post.  I make a quote from the first thread, then copy that quote to the "Notepad" text editor.  I'll then click on the green location where I'm at above (in this case, "post and quotes...") to reload the thread, then move to the second person I wish to quote and duplicate the process.  I'll do this for all the post where I want to get a quote, then I'll go to the last post where I wish to quote and put my reply together.  The quote above was the first copied quote.  After I replied to that one, I'll copy the second quote and paste it to my reply, like so ...

This was taken from Scott's post ... if I have more to quote, I'll continue, like so ...

and conclude my final reply to the last user by simply highlighting their reply and clicking quote, like so ...

You can do the same thing manually, as Alosso pointed out, but I'm a bit lazy, so I incorporate another program to temporary store all those quotes.  It's kind of a pain, but it does work, as you can clearly see.

Enjoy, Andy ... each method will work ... just a bit of a PITA!

I would do it your way too Kat if I was quoting more than two posts, or even have two browser windows open side by side and just select, drag and drop.

What I did to do this quote was press quote, highlight the whole thing with left clicker holding down. After highlight right click and press copy. Go to sourse right click press paste. Went to persons name right side and put where I quoted them from.

    Mes.

I like the "dual browser" option.  Wouldn't you still have to "quote" and "crash" the reply?  Or would you manually type the quote user="<username>" surrounded by the braces and followed by the quote (also surrounded by the braces)

or are those "[" "]" characters brackets?  lol.
