    GlassMan27:

This is the part that caught my eye:

You agree that you shall not, under any circumstances:...(ii) host, provide or develop matchmaking services for the game or intercept, emulate or redirect the communication protocols used by WGT in any way, including without limitation through protocol emulation, tunneling, packet sniffing, modifying or adding components to the game, use of a utility program or any other techniques now known or hereafter developed, for any purpose, including without limitation unauthorized network play over the Internet, network play utilizing commercial or non-commercial gaming networks, or as part of content aggregation networks; or

That paragraph has been there always.

    Nothing new.

FYI, you can use The WaybackMachine(Internet Archives) to view older copies of the TOC.  Just search for

    http://www.wgt.com/terms.aspx

I found the above paragraph in a Sept. 2011 copy of the TOC on WayBackMachine.

Comparing to a version from last year, I think the following are the majority of recent changes.

-Many changes adding "Application".  Perhaps covering the mobile app as well as the site.

    -Added "or sweepstakes" after "contest"

-Seems anyplace the word "earned" was used it was changed to "obtained"

-Added paragraph:   "The Application(s) may include downloadable software. In addition, WGT makes certain downloadable software applications available for download and use in connection with various Applications (the "App Software"). In addition to the license grant set forth above in this section, WGT grants you the limited right to download the App Software solely for your noncommercial use."

-Added:  "You agree that you will not, under any circumstances gather or transfer WGT Credits or virtual items for sale or use the Application(s) or any part thereof for performing in-game services, such as power-leveling and item collection services, in exchange for payment outside the Application(s)."

-Mostly new except the stuff about being 18 years of age:  "Competitions, where the winner obtains a physical or tangible prize, are open to individuals who are 18 years of age or older or the age of majority in the entrant's state or province/territory of residence, whichever is greater. To participate in a Competition where the winner obtains a physical or tangible prize, you must not be a resident of or be physically located at the time of play (a) the United States who resides in Arizona, Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Iowa, Illinois, Louisiana, Maryland, Montana, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, or Vermont, or be subject to the laws of one of those states, (b) Brazil, Argentina, the People's Republic of China, South Korea, Japan, or (c) any other jurisdiction that WGT excludes in its sole discretion. To participate in certain Competitions where the winner obtains a physical or tangible prize, you may be required to submit to WGT documentation to verify your eligibility and to verify your age and/or residency and, if the physical or tangible prizes you have obtained in a given year have a value over $600, a completed W-9 tax form."

-Added: "For the avoidance of doubt, Apple Inc., Google Inc., and Amazon Inc., are not sponsors of, or in any way involved in, any Competitions."

-Changed to 13 year olds: "Individuals who are 13 years of age or older may enter Challenges, except that Challenges where the winner obtains a physical or tangible prize are only open to individuals who are 18 years of age or older...."

***Edit:  I forgot an important change last night.

    Changes in red.

"Ownership/Selling of the Account or Virtual Items

WGT does not recognize the transfer of your user accounts ("Accounts") or any virtual items contained therein. You may not purchase, sell, gift or trade any Account, or offer to purchase, sell, gift or trade any Account, WGT Credits or virtual item contained therein, and any such attempt shall be null and void. WGT owns, has licensed, or otherwise has rights to all of the content that appears in the games and on this Site and the Application(s). You agree that you have no right or title in or to any such content, including the virtual items or WGT Credits appearing or originating in the games, or any other attributes associated with the Account or stored on the Site. or in the Applications. WGT does not recognize any virtual property transfers executed outside of the games or the purported sale, gift, transfer or trade in the "real world" of anything related to the games. Accordingly, you may not sell virtual items for "real" money or otherwise exchange items for value outside of the games. If you purchase or otherwise receive any WGT Credits for your Account, you agree that you will not transfer such WGT Credit and that you will not use such WGT Credits to engage in gambling, gaming, or lottery, or betting of any kind.

You shall not circumvent any of the foregoing prohibitions, such as, by way of example, transfer WGT Credits or virtual items by intentionally throwing a game or losing a game. Without limiting WGT's rights and remedies, WGT may terminate your Account and any other user Accounts involved in any such violation of the foregoing prohibitions."

C'mon Dad!  You promised not to do that. (say hi to Mom for me.)

    LOL

Check my post above for an edit. Last night,  I missed an important change to Ownership/Selling of the Account or Virtual Items.

What this does is highlights that introducing contract language to public scrutiny is folly especially when it is not written particularly well. Sorry WGT but pay for a decent lawyer if you are going to highlight contract language.

I am betting (against the rules if I really was lol) that some one is saying who had the brilliant idea of highlighting something that no one ever reads usually.

There is a serious issue here as some one has a genuine concern that may well be troubling them.  Spend a lot of time and perhaps not a little money, doing nothing wrong but some ill thought out language, highlighted because of a forum post, makes that good person worry.

Personally in a CC where every one knows what is happening I would not care about that, but I can see others would and so should WGT.

I am not trying to stir it.

I do suggest WGT contact privately anyone that they have caused angst to, and stick to saying what they are actually doing about cheating rather than trying to vicariously highlight that they are looking at it.  Real cheaters would not care, and the few jobbing multis that might give a rats........well.........May well just be poor legal advice saying this was a good idea highlighting it??

Contract language is very hard to get right at the best of times, and this effort is 6 out of 10.  Applaud any effort WGT, don't take this the wrong way, but think it through a little better.......

Excellent point and once again reiterates the NEED for a CC Fund  - where members can pay into. I would like to think this could be implemented easily, but it has been requested oodles of times with no sign of acknowledgement.  Then the need for game  forfeits would not exist,

I agree this appears to be poorly written as a contractual document but is not  massively different from the  predecessor.
