I don't think it would be a good idea from the owners point of view or benefit to the clubs. Having owned two country clubs, one of the main problems I found is having to check on players club activity to see how interested are they in playing club competitions. And now owning my second club, after a month I can already  see a similar pattern as the first one, members not playing regularly and wasting my time joining.  The option of joining two clubs would make this problem worse for clubs and club owners.

I'd like to see WGT put more energy into giving us more variations in the competitions.

They could organise club v club tournaments, something along the lines of the Time Zones Golf Club League, now coming up to it's second running.  see link

A club owners tournament similar to this one:  ClubOwnersLeague

Why don't we have more than one set of holes in CTTH putting?

Why don't WGT give us more pin positions on more greens?

Why am I even mentioning doing something about the cheats?

I would imagine a lot of players already have more than one country club.................

Didn't mean to sound like I don't like and am not loyal to my CC.  Just thinking that it would be fun to have the option to be in several.

The Deviations is in my opinion the best WGT club in terms of players.  We also have some outside activities that we particpate in.  However we aren't that active in terms of club tournaments and the players are very good, I just it could be fun to expand the membership so that you could view other areas.

No thank you. I can't see any club owner wanting this. An owner puts in lots of work to keep their members happy and occupied. If people feel the need to join a second club then their original club can't be very good.

Agreed as this would effectively mean players spending less time in their CC activities, whether it be tournaments, A/S and M/P comps and forums. I have only so much time available to play WGT, and could not commit to two clubs (as it is I never play in a CC due to lack of activity).

But I do understand the OP's point but I think a GOOD CC deserves 100% attention from the members.

I thought this thread deserved a bump.  I'd like to see WGT give the idea of multiple clubs a try.   I'm very happy with the club I'm in - great bunch of folks, good tournaments, some alt shot & matchplay.  That said, there's another club which I'd like to be  a part of as I've played 90% of the members & friended most - a  good club with a more organized tournament structure.  And just now, another friend invited me to his newly formed bracket-oriented club, which is a novel idea, but i had to respectively decline at this time.  None of these clubs play CC vs CC, so there would be no issues there.

I do understand how some owners would be less than thrilled with the idea.  However, the solution seems simple - don't invite players presently in a club to join yours & decline requests from folks until they quit their current clubs.  Also, if a club requires a level of participation, chances are the members' activity levels are monitored to some degree or another already...don't see how this would change things.  And while I more than understand how some owners rightly expect 100% dedication from its members, I'm not sure that is, or should be, the required standard for every owner.

I think it would be nice for WGT to at least give the idea of multiple club memberships a trial run. It's just another way for more players to fully enjoy the game in my opinion.  Thank you.

Maybe a trial period...7 days?  or 3 days?

Agree about being a member of only 1 CC from an organisers perspective, but understand why people might want 2 also.

think a short trial would be more beneficial and wouldnt waste owners/organisers time. also maybe it s a discreet trial period to stop people getting booted when cc owner finds out   lol

I'd quit if it happened. If there's not enough to do in one club then you're in the wrong one.

    Agreed 100%

Since my initial post in this thread, I joined a new CC. In the 4 months since joining the new CC, there is NO WAY I could commit to more than the one club.

And for the effort the "good owners" put in, how about rewarding them with a little loyalty?

I am impressed with the effort many (most) CC owners - such as Courtneyfish - put into their roles. I am a previous member of her CC and saw first hand the level of guidance and support she provided.

However, I think we should consider the mindset of a player not currently a member of a club. How do they/we really know the club is right for them? It may sound good on the surface, but you do not know until you join and play for a period of time. And what about a CC that feels pretty good, but has a few issues that "bugs" the member? Should the member simply leave, hoping they will find a better fit? Or should the player be allowed to audit another club?

Not having a WGT option, I left. Unfortunately, I have not found another club that strikes my fancy. But how would I know? I can keep joining and dropping CC's, but that just sounds fruitless. There should be a better way.

    Just one players thoughts.

    Cheers
