Against Basic Golf Rules

  Hi,

   

  First par3 on the front 9 of Oakmount country club, is a 299y Par3 for Legends+.

  
  

  This is against the basic golf rules as laid by USGA, since maximum allowed yardage for a Par3 is 250y.

  
  

  I completely agree that Legend+ should tee off from parking lots, but that doesn’t mean that WGT should not follow the Golf Rules.

  
  

  Hence my appeal to WGT Course designers is that, if you want to make this great game more realistic, then kindly work on this issue.

  The course is how the US Open was played back in 2007 for the US Open. Are you saying the USGA are breaking  their  own rules?

  If so perhaps you would like to write to them and  complain.

  Also everyone plays this game as a Professional - we do not have handicaps apart from stupidity.

  From the link you provided:

  The USGA has periodically issued guidlines for the par-ratings of holes based on their lengths; i.e., if a hole is 200 yards, it is a par-3. Those guidelines have changed over the years, and the way they are used has changed, too.

  It's important to note that the USGA guidelines are not, in fact, based on actual yards, but on a hole's "effective playing length."

  OK, maybe it's not a Rule,

   

  But just logically thinking,  299y par3 doesn't suite to the eyes..

   

  In a head wind a player can't even reach using a Driver, which made me write this Post.

   

  And i don't recall seeing a PGA tournament or USGA tournament with 299y par3, if anyone does, kindly share the link.

  First it was the 2010 Ladies U.S. Open when Oakmont was set up that way. 

  And some of us have the handicap of poor vision and slow reflexes.

  Sorry, no, Alan is correct (7,230 yds on a different day).
  

  The 2010 Lady's course was only 6,613 yds.
