It's common in some CCs that inactive players are being removed.

    Just saying.

I feel for your circumstances and only getting one side of the story, makes it hard to comment on.

However many CC's have the no play - no longer a member rule.

If you had explained to the owner of the CC your circumstances when the circumstances arose, then perhaps it is a little tough.

Looking at your score history, there does not appear to be a lot off CC tournaments you have played, and you tend to play CTTH.

Some CC;s have no rules, some have many, but I personally would like to have the ability to have a trial run at a new CC - this would allow the player to see the  rules  in full, forum participation as well as tournament types, variations and participation rates, Currently we join blind. For me a good indication of an active club is where the forum is used by the majority of members.

It also seems due to players not seeing this, many will join a club and leave soon after. But a owner cannot see the players CC history. I believe in loyalty, and a good CC owner puts in a lot of time to make their club successful, and probably would be a good tool in vetting new players.

I would look for another club as the one I am in is stale, we used to play lots of alt together, now half of a small club is inactive.

The good news for you Darc, there are many clubs out there, you just need to find one right for you.

I am  sincerely  sorry for your loss and the forums are also for venting, so no apologies required.

I am happy to play with anyone so if you want a hit and I am green just ask. I  haven't played much lately due to work commitments but the offer is there.

We all started as a hack and the smart players who progress will often play with the higher ranks - to learn. I am not great but I am happy to give any player tips if I can.

Practice certainly does help, but also listen to advice. A good CC will have a forum that you can seek advice as well. I played this game for about a year, and one game I played with one of the better WGT players. He was smack bang in the middle of the fairway and proceeded to hit the ball within 2 feet - punch shot he told me. I took heed and improved.

Also with a new CC, try to find one where there are a number of similarly tiered players and look how often the members play and participate in CC  events.

This is a great game and hopefully will take your mind off the events of the last few months, even if just for a short time..

First of all, please accept my apology for my former unsensitive response and my sincere commiserations regarding your loss.

This is too much restraint IMHO.

Frequently, ppl are better than they think.

In public games, a "bad" result will pass by unnoted - nobody will see a standing beyond 200, average saturation takes care of the score, your one-time playing mates will forget soon ;) So just enter the tourney or MP game and hack around. It's good practice.

In a CC, a member who participates and finishes as an also-ran will get a better reputation IMHO than a passive member. Same in MP games with club mates. Be part of the pack, contribute to the fun, and you'd rather get support for your game than any scolding. Prepare for some friendly bashing though ;)

Good luck in your next CC!

    +1

It really irks me when you see half the players in a CC Comp with a WD next to the name. As Paul says, saturation gets rid of those nasty high scores (and we all have had them - or should have) and I would rather see a player with a high score than a WD.

LOL - I had been playing well and suddenly had an 80 some time back - yes I copped some bashing, especially when it came to playing alternate with fellow members, jokes like OH NO HES MY P..... all great fun.
