There is no handicapping system here so the amount you are above or below par is meaningless. Only the actual score counts.
Nine hole scores are simply doubled to apply it to your "average". Shooting 38, 39 or 40 as you've been doing equates to 76, 78 or 80. Those scores are not low enough to drop your 74 average.
