    By chance I noticed that WGT's top item, the Custom WGT Avatar (500,000 crs in the Elite shop) has been locked. From the text on top of the Elite shop I see that verification might be necessary to make it available.

    I understand this for real world items like hats, gift cards and real golf rounds, but why the (virtual) avatar and not the virtual Custom Bag (300,000 crs) nor the real MisterWGT phone call (100,000 crs))?

    Any ideas?

    I believe it has to do with the price.  If you are going to purchase that many credits they want to verify that the card is not stolen or something like that.  If you won the credits, I believe they just want to make sure the wins were legit.

    Surely all wins are legit or you wouldn't pay them out.

    So, verification should be due to avoid a $ 5000 fraud but not for $ 1000 or
    $ 3000?

    *rolling the eyes*

    Edit: +1 Courteney!

    Yeah Alosso i don't think they know themselves. Right this moment in a bit of bother with some States gambling laws.

    Looking like possibly done landed in some trouble. Players committing fraud everyday on this site, and being payed the credits.

    A road that only leads to one place!

    An official answer starting with "I believe" leaves some unbelievable ways of interpretation ;)

    The road of redemption starts at well-known places, but it's hard to investigate, blinded by greenbacks.

    I though maybe they wanted to see if you were who you said you were.  If I had a custom avatar, I damn sure don't want it to look exactly like me.

    This appears as a different layer.

    We don't even know if "face" or "complexion" (*) will be at choice. If so, they would certainly clarify that the user has all necessary rights to have a real image copied.

    (*) or "hat"

    (Note to myself: Perhaps a visit to WGT for a photo session is included in those 500,000 crs?)

    Yup.  And the 100,000 credit phone call has an answer to "what are you wearing right now?".
