I suggest learning both something about golf and basic physics as play is not consistent  whether your talking about the effect of the wind for or against uphill or down or inconsistent effects of rough this game is arcade level at best.

Feel free to ask for tips and advice on here. Blaming the game will get you nowhere.

If you play uneven lies you will find a difference when your ball it on a side or down slope, quite a big one in fact.

This game is very good in my opinion. Of course it's not the same as real golf.  Can anyone name a single computer based sports simulation game that is exactly like the real thing?

Or any simulation for that matter.

You want it to be more realistic?  Go play real golf.

You said it, Game! It is a game and games have their limits in what can be done. It is not meant to be like real golf, just  simulation or reperesenation of the game of golf.

It would be impossible to replicate all of the different variables that are at play on a real course and if the game did it none of us would play cuz it would be so random that it wouldn't be any fun.

In real golf I could take a bucket of balls and dump it out in the fairway. Take 100 shots with my 7 iron and I gaurantee I would not get consistent results. Very few people would. There are so many moving parts to a swing that if you mess one of them up can cause a different result, so unfortunately golf is not very consistent, there are so many factors at play.

    couple other differences:

In real golf I actually play outside and have to pick up and swing an actual club, here I move a mouse and click a button

In real golf I don't have a little power meter to tell me exactly how hard to hit a club with an exact mapped yardage for said club, here I do.

Yes the game has variations, deviations, VEM, whatever you wanna call it and it is supposedly designed to try and replicate some of how things are in real life.  Do some crazy and wierd things happen from time to time, sure. There are 100s of threads about all the crazy stuff that happens. We could probably fill an entire landfill with the broken mouses and computer screens that have been caused as a result of this said deviation. However, it is just a computer program. Computer programs aren't perfect and neither are the algorhythms or calculations the computer program uses.  How many computer programs are perfect. If they were I wouldn't frikcing have to up date all these programs on my computer  every week or month. They all have there faults and a lot of times it is a work in progress, trial and error.

At the end I guess if it isn't fun for you then just don't play.

Not sure how calling this game 'arcade' is trolling - That's a simple fact.

There isn't anything even remotely 'sim-like' about this game.

You have basic shot making capabilites at best.

Equipment physics are out the window and moot with the VEM system in place.

Wind - Well not even sure where to start with that, laughable at best.

Deviation - Golf clubs don't have deviation, concept is absurd and simply another game control mechanism.

This game was developed for one purpose - To generate a revenue stream. Period. As far as that goes, it's fantastic, the WGT model should be a course module in business schools.

As a golf game, it's terrible and one of the worst playing  experiences  around. Yes it looks nice, but that's where it ends.

Kudos  to WGT for conducting one of the biggest studies on social game behaviors on a massive scale. One could easily write their thesis from it. [insert golf clap here]

    LoL

No one is forcing u to play this game, if u dont like it or dont agree with it and the way it is run, just leave, its easy. just dont log in and play. Go and play NHL hockey or some other game that could not be closer to reality if it tried.

Tell me one game that was not invented with the view of earning some revenue. or are u still playing Space invaders at 10 cents a pop when it came out which actually made millions but when u finished playing u did not have enough left for a hamburger
