You said it, Game! It is a game and games have their limits in what can be done. It is not meant to be like real golf, just simulation or reperesenation of the game of golf.
It would be impossible to replicate all of the different variables that are at play on a real course and if the game did it none of us would play cuz it would be so random that it wouldn't be any fun.
In real golf I could take a bucket of balls and dump it out in the fairway. Take 100 shots with my 7 iron and I gaurantee I would not get consistent results. Very few people would. There are so many moving parts to a swing that if you mess one of them up can cause a different result, so unfortunately golf is not very consistent, there are so many factors at play.
couple other differences:
In real golf I actually play outside and have to pick up and swing an actual club, here I move a mouse and click a button
In real golf I don't have a little power meter to tell me exactly how hard to hit a club with an exact mapped yardage for said club, here I do.
Yes the game has variations, deviations, VEM, whatever you wanna call it and it is supposedly designed to try and replicate some of how things are in real life. Do some crazy and wierd things happen from time to time, sure. There are 100s of threads about all the crazy stuff that happens. We could probably fill an entire landfill with the broken mouses and computer screens that have been caused as a result of this said deviation. However, it is just a computer program. Computer programs aren't perfect and neither are the algorhythms or calculations the computer program uses. How many computer programs are perfect. If they were I wouldn't frikcing have to up date all these programs on my computer every week or month. They all have there faults and a lot of times it is a work in progress, trial and error.
At the end I guess if it isn't fun for you then just don't play.
