Masters report
Out of 46 qualifiers for Southerns first major of the year,
40 participants took up the challenge and tee’d it up in the first round. There were some casualties along the way and
by the end, ¾ of the field had completed all 4 rounds at the tough and challenging
Olympic course.
True to form, our two Tour Legends dominated the top of the
leaderboard with some blistering rounds of golf. Stevietwotimes edging out Fonde to take The
Masters Green Jacket and immortality as he becomes Southerns first Masters
winner.and earns himself a place in Southerns Trophy Room Congratulations to Stevie, a
thoroughly deserved champion and genuinely great bloke.
Our Legends had a right ding dong battle and throughout all
four rounds it remained very close. Talluin, with two rounds of 63 led the way
but a slip in the 3rd round with
a score of 72 allowed the pack to close.
Some impressive scoring on final Sunday saw a 64 from
Talluin to hold on to 3rd from Mike9950 with an impressively
consistent tournament, all four rounds in the 60’s claiming fourth place. Dana, Eviltwinn820 rounding out the top 5
with an impressive 4th round 63, the lowest score of the round.
Our Masters and Tour pros also played some fantastic golf
and had some great battles, Affo topped the Masters table leading the way with
67,65, 68, 71 a four round total of 271.
A shot clear of PEnglish3.
Myhandicapisgolf rounding out the top 3 masters. (Affo moving up during
the masters event to tour master, well done Affo).
Of our Tour Pro’s, seethreepio, made up a 6 shot deficit
from round 1 on infin8 to go into the final round with a 3 shot lead,
impressive stuff. With a magnificent 67
in the final round, Seethreepio storms to the top of our Tour Pro leaderboard
and possible contender for player of the tournament.
A hugely successful tournament and some impressive
sponsorship for our first major of the year.
Our second major promises to be even bigger and better with some already
outstanding sponsorship already.
