I'm still playing in the old days, a -3 is an awesome score for me. Why on earth would anyone want to shoot 10-12 under par for a round. This does not happen ever in 9 holes on a real golf course. Like I said before, be a golfer or be a gamer. Nothing meant against anyone at all, I would lose interest so fast if every hole was a birdie or eagle, why would you continue to play?

    BolloxInBruges:
Can pass the prize along to a true OG fuzzygazz if that is correct :)

Would be hard to find an older old timer. :)

Why do you feel the need to constantly hate on the best players (seen you say basically the same thing hundreds of times)?  Is it their fault they were born with good reflexes reasoning abilities?  Maybe some people are more competitive than others and enjoy that aspect of the game, who cares?

Sir I am not hating on the best in any way shape or form. I am not coming down on anyone. I am not at all upset with WGT. I could see the best players on here shooting 5-6 under every game, the rest of us or most of us 5-6 over. That would be more realistic in real golf. Please don't think I am hating anyone, that is not me at all. We go way back B and I have stayed away from you out of total respect for your abilities here. All I can say. I just don't understand when I make a comment that certain players have to come back and think I am saying more than what I am. If I strike a nerve sometimes, it might be better to stay silent than to place a spot light on yourself. I have no doubt that many players on here have an ability to play this game way beyond the normal person. I am not questioning that. I was making a comment about the good old days, and the realism of this game. I still have the reflexes and the mental capability to play real golf. I may not have the ability to be the best at a computer game, and I could give a $hit less.

Well, how many would lose it if WGT was to cut the distance on clubs and balls? Would it be something to bring to the table?

i agree the new balls and clubs have hijacked this game. its preposterous how such long irons and woods can stop on a dime these days - that just doesnt happen.

however i still enjoy it - just not as much as i used to.

To get an idea of what it was like in the beginning, visit NASAGOLFER's page and check out his screen print of his winning round (a 66!) in the first open at Bethpage.  That score wouldn't finish in the top 40 of a Ready Go today.  BTW I love the new clubs and balls.  I just wish they weren't so expensive.  Still cheaper than a round of golf though.
