Boy and I thought folks in the south talked funny . Of course I can say that , since I`m from the south . South Africa or Australia , or U.S. same motherland . I`m just so confused , too much coffee today , I need a nap . :-)

Don't let it get you down when people call you a cheat and a sandbagger.

The other day before I made TL I was at 60.02 average so obviously I can play a little.  Playing in a group with 2 other Legends on the front side a Kiawah.  The one in question had an average of around 63 so pretty close to me.  I birdie 1, didn't get up and down on 2 and birdied 3 to go 2 under.  I hit it close on four, little wind into me so not a horrible shot and made an 8 footer for birdie, he three putted from 20 feet.  The bitching and whining started at this point.

I managed to birdie 5 with a nice 15 footer.  More whining, name calling, etc.  I finally said well the problem isn't me it's that you can't play to your average.  I finish with 7 straight birdies to shoot 28, a good score for me.  He shot 38 and for whatever reason I was the bad guy.  At some point these folks who quit all the time, only play the courses that keep there average down and then can't compete need to realize the reason is they don't put in the time on the difficult courses.  I play them all, no preference to any, I'll join alt shot or stoke play with anyone at Tour Pro and above.

I think this keeps me sharp and I like to help those who haven't had the chance to be on here as long even the lower levels.  They really enjoy getting to play at tournament speed or even championship now.

I only see sour grapes and a sore loser in this situation and would welcome comments from other players who have experienced similar.

I was accused by one of the opponents of being a sandbagger and cheat. I can only assume this accusation was based n the fact they were being outplayed and losing!

    This!

    Here's my favourite golf quote:

Bobby Jones: Competitive golf is played mainly on a five-and-a-half-inch course, the space between your ears.”

They just want to get into your five 1/2 inches to control your game.

    You allow it, you lose.

I'm actually looking forward to the day that someone legitamately calls me a cheat.

At the level and tier I am at, it would be a compliment!

I had an incident where one lunatic actually threatened to kill me and my entire family. He even went on to say he would save me for last because he said that my seeing them die would make it much more "sweeter".

A week or so later he offered an apology but quickly removed it from my wall. (( I guess he really wasn't sorry). A few weeks later he wrote on my wife's wall that I was an idiot to think he would really come and kill us over a video game. He went on to say that if I would admit that I was in fear of his threats all I needed to do was acknowledge that I was afraid of him and he would stop with his treats after I posted that death threats are a crime even if they are online.

I guess saving all the text in case it was even needed was a good idea even if the threats were not likely to be carried out.....but why take chances

Maybe the guy was just having a bad day or two....or three....or
