I've just abandoned the weekly stroke play at Kiawah; was 2 under... till the 17th hole.
normally clear the water, even when playing into the wind. Not today though... Today, it went "splash". Totally bemused, I had another go, with a bit of back lift to let the wind carry it a bit further, and it STILL failed to reach the green. For my 3rd go, I moved up to my 3W Tour Starter (210 yards) - it was STILL short (19 yards short) So last attempt... I used my driver. It dropped straight in the bunker behind the green. I ran out of shots - and abandoned the comp as what's the point.
I know how to play this game and given the conditions, I can't see any reason why my 3H usually clears the water even playing into the wind - but was going way short, with the wind behind it.... And how in all that's holy, can a 210 yard club NOT reach the pin 184 yards away with the wind behind it?!?
Could it could be a glitch?
