Really like the Bracket concept and look forward to CC matches and credit games.  Unfortunately, I have experienced the same problem of being booted with the Unexpected Error screen upon trying to tee off.  This has happened to me twice, and the only apparent recourse is to forfeit.  Both times I found myself on a Red tee instead of the Black(I am Legend tier).  Noticed many others with WD in the bracket also.  I assume this is happening frequently.

Very frustrating!  Hope this gets fixed and is posted so that we know to continue without frustration.

    Thanks!

I actually finished my first 18hole bracket after about 4 different comps... with no errors.

Tried few of them,9 didn't give me any trouble so far. 18 holes., completed 1st round,  in 2nd round game froze on 9nth hole, after restarting the window it seems it placed me on lower tees and wouldn't let me tee off. so had to withdraw ,,,,,,, hopeful by the time it would be played for credits it will be fixed otherwise ......   interesting competition though.

    YankeeJim:

Ultimately starting at the last hole and working backwards.......  :-)

If any ties remain, the better scoring entrant between or among the remaining tied entrants will be the entrant with the lowest score for the 18th hole (9th for nine hole games) in such Game, and any remaining ties will be determined by identifying the lowest scoring entrant for each individual game hole, in sequence from 17th (8th for nine hole games) through to 1st, as is necessary to determine a winner, and if any ties remain at that point, the earlier-submitted entry between or among the tied entries will be deemed the better scoring entry.

Now I vowed never to argue with a Yankee Fan, let alone if that fans name is JIm but ....lol

I have copied and pasted from under the FAQ - Brackets section.

In the event of a tie, the better scoring entrant between or among the tied entrants will be the entrant with the lowest combined score for the final nine (9) holes of the Game. If any ties remain, the better scoring entrant between or among the remaining tied entrants will be the entrant with the lowest combined score for the final six (6) holes for such Game. If any ties remain, the better scoring entrant between or among the remaining tied entrants will be the entrant with the lowest combined score for the final three (3) holes for such Game.

Now I am not saying you are incorrect as you have got your information from somewhere, but that conflicts the FAQ Brackets section.

So Icon or DB which is it? It has to be one or the other and one of the sets of information (produced by WGT) is incorrect.

When the 2 best rounds both do not advance to the 2nd round it's ridiculous as far as I'm concerned.   I understand what you are saying BUT advancing three lower scores and not advancing both of the top two scores makes ZERO sense.

Having same problem with getting unexpected error and having to withdraw and forfeit. VERY FRUSTRATING! I feel like its a waste of time when I get through to the third round then I can't finish because of these errors.

Kelly, reading your comments I get that what you want in the first round is to take the top 8 scores of the 16. Essentially have a stroke play event with cuts every round, cutting 16 to 8, 8 to 4, 4 to 2 then a championship match.. I have heard that called an elimination bracket at my local bowling center. It is also clearly not what WGT has presented here. Both are perfectly fine competitions, but are they are different competitions.

WGT has presented a true 16 man bracket starting as 8 separate matches. Then in a perfectly binary manner you either win or lose versus your opponent. The winner advances, the loser is out. No one match has any effect on the outcome or advancement of any other. The analogy of the NCAA Basketball Tournament, used earlier, applies perfectly here.

It is perfectly acceptable if the bracket format is not your cup of tea. No one format is for everyone. However from your comments, it appears brackets are definitively not for you. I would politely suggest other forms of competition you are more comfortable with. There is no shame in that, every one has strengths and preferences.

If you advance the top scores paying no attention to who won each bracket match it would be nothing but standard tourney scoring so if you use that why have brackets.
