After racking my brain over this burning topic that has my blood boiling, I can think of only two advantages that justify the implementation of the new levels (not counting the fact that now the in-game top left corner looks better -- more elegant and less obtrusive -- than before, when the soliciting word CREDITS was constantly in our faces).

    1) The unethical sandbaggers are partly discouraged from opening other accounts to compete at a lower level than their actual ability, since the acquisition of good equipment is now like pulling teeth with a pair of tweezers while time flows in slow motion like molasses.

    2) Players are motivated to play a lot of complete rounds in order to earn the right to buy good equipment. And I mean A LOT, as past the mid-twenties, levels advance ever so slowly, enough to put an insomniac permanently to sleep.

Besides that, I am sorry to say, WGT, whose genius I have praised more than once before, the new system of levels is a large and painful hemerrhoid on my golfer's ass.

    GL57, you're totally right.

WGT have shot themselves in the foot, in a way, especially by bringing in the levels and the new tiers at the same time, as now a whole lot of golfers can't buy equipment that suits their ability. I was pondering a new driver - and surely WGT want to encourage us to buy - but it looks like I'll have to wait months - at least - to earn the necessary level points. I like to play, so will keep on playing but there are many who won't.

Thank you. I hope many other members will use this thread to express their discontent and compel WGT to seriously revamp their new -- seriously flawed -- system of levels or discard it outright.

I think WGT is very aware of how people are feeling. Trust me when I say their cash flow from MPC''s and Ready Goes is down. The big problem is what to do. No matter how well thought out the changes that were implemented were, it is obvious that some of the unintended consciences where overlooked. Mainly the whole concept of changing the game from skill based to one that is not. So how does WGT address these issues and still save face? Clearly if they scrap the level system someone's head is going to roll. If they don't then those who preferred the skill based game will continue to leave.

Sadly my vote is let the heads roll

OFF WITH THEIR HEADS!!!! It is obvious that the new level system is costing WGT more players than it is drawing. Obviously the suggestion to go to this new system came from someone whose head is so far up their butt they need a glass belly-button to see where they're going! A skill based game is more like real golf. In any league around the world you are put into a grouping deserving of  your skill level. Nowhere are you then reclassified inside that level. You are either an A,B,C or D player until your average score comes down due to better play. C'mon WGT get it right!

The sandbaggers are still going to sandbag because most of them already have the clubs that they want or need. And with the point system as it is now with every stroke getting a point and not losing those points if you quit it will help the sandbaggers advance quicker. It doesn't make a lot of sense to award more points for higher scores. This is what imo needs to be changed.

As for kaslo's contention that WGT is no longer skilled based he is dead wrong. Even with the best clubs and balls WGT has to offer you still have to have great skill to excel in this game. If it were just the clubs and balls then every master who had the clubs and balls would have had an average under 60 when the tier changes were made. It probably takes even more skill for the legends to excel now that they are playing from the longer tees and tournament greens.

Let's say for fun there were 2 of me

1st me uses the master driver

2nd me uses the pro driver

1st me is always gonna win even though 2nd me is just as skilled. That is the point I am making.

P.S. You are correct I should have said a "purely" skill based game.

I wonder if WGT really cares about MPC at this point? The people that were playing in those challenges were using credits they won in previous MPC. One should ask, was WGT making any real money, or were they just passing credits back and forth, sparking the need for a change? I mean, sure they pulled in 20% of the till, but what good does virtual credits do for WGT? I've pondered if this was the actual reason for the new changes in the game. I imagine WGT is smarter than that though, right? I'd like to hear you're thoughts on that Kaslo.

There's so much to think about with online gaming, kind of like the strategy in the game of Chess. Sometimes the wrong idea can come back to bite a Internet company in the butt.
