PS. While you're trying to diagnose the problem, it may be that we really were late turning in a score on the 2nd round, but the timing of the rounds was incorrectly displayed.
According to the display, there seemed to be a gap of 1 day between the end of round 1 and the beginning of round 2. That did not make much sense to me, but I had no reason to question it.
Maybe the 2nd round was going on all the time I was being told it had not started yet.
If I really missed the round, I should have been marked down as 'forfeit', but in fact the 2nd round of my part of the bracket stayed open even though the other part of the bracket had already played or completed the 3rd round.
Cheers
PPS. And now - still refusing to concede even though the final bracket has already been played and finished by two of the remaining players - when I am told on the bracket that I 'need to play', I am taken directly to the 4th and final round, where I actually proceed to tee off, and the ball is in play, even though I technically never finished round 2!
As far as I can tell, I never really played round 2 at all, but was started off on round 3 but not allowed to finish it. So now I am guessing if I continue to play round 4 I will get to my final putt and not be allowed to finish.
