  lol - I have certainly taken that in to consideration SP - I do not play terribly frequently and certainly don't maintain consectutive day streaks. 

  That is a valid point - thus making my "argument on principle" even more frustrating - hehe

  I understand, in the light of competition, it makes sense for me to try the R11s, but if a legend is truly a legend in this game(and it is not) I would rather spend my money and get the L97s  =)

  Courtney - another valid point - and again I understand all of the comments - BUT in a competitive environment some of us would like the opportunity to find out if it would help us. 

  I  am resigned that I will likely spend money at L90 because I am so slow to acquire XP points, but it still doesn't proclude me from whining a bit on a Friday morning does it?  =)

  yeah i know bro but the xp gap is so huge they arent really that much better for that many levels imo the r11's should do u well

  FYI - Update for those of you that are interested. 

  I did take the leap with the R11s recently - the meter freaked me out for a short time and I hate paying a lot of money to wgt for imaginary balls. I started with the L48 and 61 NIkes and liked them, but didn't like the price. 

  Switched to Cally legends which I used with the L85Nikes - and at first said - NO WAY am I gonna handle that meter speed. 

  Well - about one week later it is starting to settle in and carry and roll are coming together. 

  **Anyone that tells you that the L85 Nikes are as good or better than the R11s plays a different game than I do. The R11s are more forgivable than the L85s when missing the ding on the wrong side - and more accurate when missing the ding on the correct side. 

  Definitely worth the upgrade from the L85s and I am sure the L83 G20s - even if wgt comes out with something at L94/95.

  Try either the L33+ or 35+ Cally . You will have the same meter speed , and longer ball life , than the legend ball . Also the short side of the R11s , is the performance of the short irons . It will take awhile , to dial your new clubs in . But once you get comfortable with them , you will post better scores . Good luck with your game . :-)

  It is my only gripe about this game..a legend is not a legend. It is like working for the federal government, advancement has zero to do with skill level, just how much time you have put in.

  If anything would drive me to leave this game it is the fact that I have years before I could get upper level clubs, but still have to compete on the same field. It seems unreasonable at best if wgt expects players to compete for credits and prizes.

  I see you went ahead and bought the R-11 irons. I have been using them since I made level 90.  Got to be the  best I have used on WGT. 

  During the recent rental I was interested in trying the L97 Nikes.  I was only level 96 so decided to try the level 85 Nikes.  I thought they were good but not as good the R-11. On Sunday night I reached level 97.  I rented them. There good, but not sure there any better than the R-11's.  VEM was high during the weekend. So not sure how they really play. Not sure if there worth spending 40 dollars on. Meter might be a little slower but not sure they will improve my game any. 

  I bought the Level 94 Max irons. There not any good. I used them for CTTH games only, since I use mostly free balls when playing CTTH. Other wise I would not recommend buying them.  If I didn't buy the MAX irons, Buying the Nikes would be an easier decision.

  Do you like how the 3-4 and 5 irons in the R11 set work? With the Nikes the 6-PW work the same way-it's the primary difference between the 2 sets. The PW could pass for a CG wedge. The meter's slightly slower and the yardages are the same as the R11's.

  Right now you have 3 different meter speeds to deal with with the R11's being the fastest. This makes it difficult to be consistent.  Switching to those Nikes will reduce this to 2-driver/wedges one speed and 3W/irons the other. This makes a huge difference in getting into a tempo.

  I have heard that about the tempo and speeds - I would say yes I have 3 different speeds, but probably categorize them differently than you described. 

  The x-hot is my slowest meter speed - extremely manageable with any ball really

  The BB 3w is faster but easier to hit

  The wedges and irons are the same speed with the cally balls

  I can't understate it, and it really is a petty thing as I can afford it, but I hate paying 500 or more credits for imaginary balls - lol. I will likely buckle down the road, but for now I am being stubborn. I like all the clubs I have so even with Nike balls, I think I will have 3 different speeds. But don't have enough experience to say that with confidence, you vets would know more than I. 

  The one really positive benefit with the r11s is that my wedge play is so much better because of the similar meter speeds. 

  The long irons are incredible and would be even better I assume with a L81 Nike, but they hold pretty well with the callys. 

  I have thought about the 33/35 callys and should probably try them, but I like that 4.5 distance and 3.5 spin combo of the legends. How much distance would I lose with the 33 cally at a 3.0 distance as its spin rating is 4.0?

  You're there, 2 speeds works just fine. Whatever ball you use, you'll still only have 2 speeds to master. The ball affects the meter speed the same across the board on all your clubs.

  Then don't. The 1/2 price 33 Callaway is a great bargain because it not only lasts longer  (0.5 more durable) it has plenty of spin and distance for what you're swinging. The better balls are nice but you better ding them because you get hurt more when you don't. Just about every WTF shot I read about here involves an expensive ball. You can get away with missing smart (wind side of ding) and still get good results with the less expensive Callaway.

  Whatever you wind up with, commit to it. The key is to know what you can do with your clubs and switching balls back and forth will give you grief.  I find the 33 Callaway plays solid to the club ratings. Easy to learn.  :-)
