    ScottHope:
You use Google Drive don't you?  Isn't it just a question of selecting the file you want to share, and copy the share link and paste it HERE, or wherever.

Honestly, I never even thought of using Google drive and sharing just one file (or maybe a group of files that way.  After posting I did an html edit and saw what you were doing, so I wondered ... can I share single files?

It seems with google drive I won't need to have a separate button for downloading or sharing.  I just want to have a way to show large forms of data for the CC's season long CC Championships.

Thanks for the idea and the help.  You're the best!

PS:  The spreadsheet you did for Oily is top notch!

Nice to see the usual folk taking the time to help others once again.

I gave up tracking my own scores about a year ago but here's what the actual spreadsheet looked like at the time:

(Click image for full sized version)

Pretty much self explanatory with the red figures on the right showing the actual average for all ranked rounds alongside the WGT top 500 average in yellow.

Thanks again Kat and you're always welcome, wonder where I got the idea you were a GDrive user from?  Oh well, I just got the fact you use GDocs muddled up with GDrive I guess, anyway, hope you have success with it.

Hey Johnny,  cool spreadsheet. Can I ask how you worked out your averages when you passed your saturation point?  Secondly, is the date in the first column a proper date format or is it just numbers and periods formatted as text. If it is the latter there is a nice way to convert that to a proper date format quite quickly.  (hmmm......but I guess there's not much point in asking that as you don't track the score no more,  oops!).

    ↓↓ EDIT  :  Thanks Johnny & Kat. ↓↓

Hopefully I'm understanding your query correctly, Scott.

Once the required 500 rounds had been played the formula in cell L2 (WGT Average)kicks in, and only refers to rows 5 through to 504 - bear in mind the last thing I do is sort the table to show lowest scoring rounds first.

The shown date is indeed just numbers etc taken direct from the existing score history on here. I'm pretty sure I'd a later version on the go whereby a macro was used and converted the date prior to pasting all the data into the relevant cells....could have been the point when my interest waned btw LOL

Very cool spreadsheet Johnny.  I like the background pic as well.  Is that part of your spreadsheet too?

Scott ... like I said, I'm more of a code writer than a formula person.  Johnny asked me for some assistance a long time ago and I was lost trying to come up with a solution.  My uncle is the Spreadsheet guy so I usually ask him for advice when it comes to writing complex formulas.  Anyway, I don't do much with google docs other than use their free space to share stuff.  It will be really cool to have the ability to share the reports generated by the tourney manager SS.

With Excel, there's definitely more than one way to get something done.  I guess it's best to do it the way you feel the most comfortable.  If it returns the right answer it isn't wrong.

Here's one way of applying correct date syntax in Excel to imported data from WGT.

    Hi Kat,  and thank you.

You use Google Drive don't you?  Isn't it just a question of selecting the file you want to share, and copy the share link and paste it HERE, or wherever.

As for creating a download link, well, with OneDrive which I use I had to Google how to do that because I couldn't find a download link anywhere, and the trick involves modifying the URL!  That sucks Microsoft!

I guess you might have to do the same thing to your Google Drive links, I'm trying to find out how but it's proving a little tricky, but you may be more successful than me.

    Scott.

Ok ... that worked great.  I'm saving the reports in PDF format on my google drive and creating a shared link so anyone that wishes to see the reports can do so (without doing the HTML editing I was doing).

This is awesome.  Thanks for the idea.

Also @Wigertoods ... thank you again for the tourney manager idea.  I'm doing a "save as" for the reports I generate in PDF format.  Without your guidance I never would have thought of adding the hyperlinks to the tournament detail or the hyperlinks for the CC members.

You guys are the greatest IMHO.

Edit:  Scott ... your movie clip for converting text to a date is very well done.  How are you getting the text on your movie clip?  (I think I asked this before ... might just be something available in your movie maker software).

Hi Kat, glad you got your documents problem sorted out.  The greatest?  I'll have to put that on my CV, might help me get a job when I go back on the market, : )  You ain't too shabby either Kat  ; )

Yeah, you did ask me about the text on my movies before and it's all part of the Camtasia software, I think you can add something similar to any videos you upload to YouTube but I prefer to do it with Camtasia as I can do the timings much more accurately.

↓↓ EDIT : It's good enough for my ego thanks Kat, and that works wonders! ↓↓

I don't think my reference will hold much water ... my best to you when you decide to go back to work!
