The time remaining isn't for the start of your game, but you have to finish your round before the timer runs out.
I was just WDed at 2 holes from fisnishing a round because of that. Sadly, I think it's one of the rare rounds I might have won since the one benefiting from my WD did +8 and I was par at the time...
