I have been on this site for over three years now and only within the last week I have been getting continuously logged out from WGT .This is more than a hassle, WGT has done something.

I used to get that problem, must have lasted nearly a year. Then it stopped a few months back.

Logged out while actually using the site or when you come back to it?

I get that fairly regularly with our laptop, I open WGT and have to log in, despite not logging out earlier.  Sometimes it happens when I've left Firefox running with the WGT window open and just closed the lid.  I've always put it down to Vista and Flash not being overly fond of each other, Flash crashes very regularly on this computer.  It was updated this week though, maybe that will help a bit.

Has anything changed on your computer recently?  It may have been some automatic update that you didn't notice at the time.

I would be able to leave WGT on for days and everything would be just as I left it. Recently if I walk away from my PC, say for 15 minutes to go get something to eat or such I am logged out. It's Bull that I now have to log on so many friggin times. And yes I always check the remember me box but that doesn't seem to work correctly either.

Occam's Razor states: Among competing hypotheses, the one with the fewest assumptions should be selected. Other, more complicated solutions may ultimately prove correct, but - in the absence of certainty - the fewer assumptions that are made, the better.

Applying Occam's Razor would suggest you first assume something changed on your computer.

No problems here getting logged out without my say so recently, and I am on WGT every day.

I have never seen anything that would lead me to think there is, or has been, any issue at all with WGT's servers.

I hope you are joking .. I suffer the same problems as above and every round costs me about $1.50 in data usage .so game fails and I don't get a round in and its costing me .

average 5x to finish a round  ..of nine holes .used to have a perfect record of game finishes ..that is long gone now

    Nope. No joke.

The average person does not understand on a fundamental level how the Internet works.

The Internet is a distributed packet switching network of networks.

I'm far from being an expert, but I know that there are many devices and several levels of software between your computer and WGT's servers in San Francisco.

wgt.com's IP address is 63.131.157.118, the servers are owned by DataPipe and located in Jersey City, New Jersey, USA

    OK.

There are many devices and several levels of software between your computer and WGT's servers that are apparently owned by DataPipe and located in Jersey City, New Jersey, USA, according to andyson.

DataPipe has a data center in Silicon Valley, CA.

The OP can do a Traceroute command and count how many unique IP addresses are between his computer and WGT's servers. Each IP address is a potential weak link in the chain, However note that Traceroute sends data packets from the traceroute computer to the WGT servers. The route from WGT servers to the users computer will likely be somewhat different.
