I have heard a few times now that when a player is spinning for an excessive amount of time, it's related to the # of friends they have.  This struck me as a crock of crap, (or at least a very minor thing) given all the other factors relevant to how a game loads.  Besides, I have about 250 people on my list but rarely suffer the excess spinnage personally.

That being said, if having a lot does affect the game for the other peeps I'm playing with, then I will happily thin the list out.  But I like being a social butterfly - it's what the game is all about!

    Please clarify.

I don't think it does. Having more than 256 friends will affect your ability to find them all though.
