    StevieBoneman:

I went to practice mode, put the ball behind the green (one example was Kawaih, one of the par 5's on the back 9 I think) a foot or two off the green. I tried a dozen different shots. Flops, chips, punches, full, irons, wedges, you name it. They all traveled zero - 1 feet.

I'm sorry but if this really is the case then you did something wrong.   I've had the ball move a few inches in 80-90% rough or weeds but never from first cut rough.

You have to understand that if someone comes along and says they they held a hammer at arms length, let go of it and it didn't drop to the ground then people are gonna be reluctant to believe it.

And that a pitch, punch, flop or whatever shot didn't move the ball at all from 1st cut rough is in the same category of unbelievable.

err, ehh, no my attitude is just fine, I was just pointing out something that I found to be completely unrealistic. A couple of you had helpful observations and I appreciate that.

Yes, it would appear that to get what you expect from this game there is much trial and error needed, with much experimentation and note taking required with each set of clubs/balls to understand what the game will do in any given situation. That's fine, I like a good challenge and that's certainly better than a game that is oversimplified.

As for the usual "I'm a better golfer than you.... you suck... I don't believe you..." whatever... get a life... maybe something beyond self validated video game player? just kidding, (I have a sense of humor) don't get your pants in a bunch unless that's your thing...

There are plenty of examples here of others, some quite experienced, with the same or similar observations.

The fact remains, that in the example I spoke of, the game wasn't working properly in my albeit humble opinion and produced an unrealistic and unplayable result. Maybe it was my browser, flash version or something. Never-the-less the net effect was dampening to say the least, and unrealistic/unplayable to say str8 up.

BTW, for the record 2damflashy, I never asked for help I simply made an observation. To those that responded with constructive comments I say thank you.

    Happy pin-hunting.

    StevieBoneman:
BTW, do a little research here and you will see that I am not the only one who has pointed similar problems out.

Thanks again for the warm condescending welcome... have a nice day. :)

And doing a bit of research is all anyone has really suggested you do yourself. I can hit just fine out of what you described because Ik what shot to hit. If you're in brush, best thing to do is use a wedge and get back to the FW best you can.

Other than that, I've found a way to hit from every other type of rough, lie, etc. except Brush. And, it's too bad you consider remarks made here to be condescending, because what they have been are the facts on how this game plays. It seems you are the one unwilling to adapt to the way this game plays, because you've played so many golf games you shouldn't have to? That's called arrogance, and arrogance is a precursor to condescension so, psychologically, all you're doing is complaining about something you probably do quite often to others.

PPl are very helpful here, if only you are willing to listen and are eager to learn, which, at least in this thread, I've seen no indication of that from you. So, good luck figuring out how to hit from Fescue at St. Andrew's. It's easy too, and guaranteed to save many strokes over a period of time. Have Fun!
