    SweetiePie:

    TarheelsRule:
I do like SP suggestion of 10 strokes off the lead but you might have to limit the 2K prizes to top 150.

Thanks TR. I think it is a fair and real qualification measurement. It is one thing to play again & again & again to hit a number versus a single round X 4 days. Much can happen. As it stands, many simply don't even try anymore to qualify. Many would be thrilled enough, just to qualify. I don't know what the cut line is, I haven't looked. But if the lowest score is, say 52, then the cut should be at 62.

SweetiePie,  I think you have hit the nail on the head for many of us.  I would be thrilled enough just to qualify,  yet the number will be around 57 that would be 7 better than I have shot on this course.   If the cut was 10 shots off the lead that would be like you said a 62,  I would be beating my fingers raw daily to trim the last 2 strokes to qualify.  But 7 shots away,  I won't waste my time or balls to do so.

To be honest, the VUS Open is for the games elite so I have no problem with the current format.

However as the qualifier is unlimited play (designed for maximum ball usage) players like the OP will only try a few times. I tried once, shot a 61 and missed 3 putts about 5 feet away, but in all fairness drained a couple of good putts, so I would not expect to do a great deal better. Will I try again? Probably not

If WGT wanted to really give lessor players an incentive, why not have a "B Grade" and "C Grade" mixed tier 4 round play off too - but with zero prizes? Sure no credits to win but would be an incentive for those who have no chance of qualifying for the real McCoy..

As for more tiers or tiers within averages, no thanks, as it is many RG's at TL take a lifetime to fill and just is an incentive for sandbaggers.

I say make more tiers.   And when you do back there tee box up at least 20 yards.

Tell that to Orville Moody, Jack Fleck or Johnny Goodman

Its a great idea to add a Tier.   And with it should come some adjusting of tee boxes.   A Tour Legend should not tee from the same tee box as a Legend.    I agree  Tour Legend and Tour Legend Elite should tee  from the same tee box.      Just like when you move up from Tour master to Legend.    The tee boxes should change every Tier you move up.       Donnie

It doesn't matter how many tiers there are or what tee's it's off. In the VUSO everyone plays from the same tee and everyone is in the same tournament.

If you aint good enough to qualify, then tough. I'm not good enough to qualify for the real US Open. Do you think the USGA will change the rules so us 12 handicappers can have a go...no they'd laugh in my face.

There are no more tees. I mentioned it earlier in the thread. WGT has verified this. Show me a real golf course with 9 sets of tees.

Think about what you just said Courtney,  we have 4 sets of Tee Boxes on WGT, not 8 as you think.  Tour Legend is already in the parking lot move the big boys to the rental property that won't do anything.  Put them in a Tier by themselves and let the wolves eat the wolves,  numbers through species control....lol.   When the best play the best and everyone else becomes smart enough to not give them their credits it may be self controlling.

The game is made up of photographs. The back tee is where the last photos were taken. I know how many tees there are, I replied to the suggestion in the post I quoted. (NOW CAPITALISED)
