After seeing some of the scores shot in the virtual US OPEN,  we have about 3 tiers of Tour Legends on WGT.  Suggestion

    1. Top players would be (Professionals)  The best of the best

    2. Tour Legends with a 59 or better average (Tour Legend +)

    3. Tour Legends (wannabees like myself)

My best on Pinehurst is 62 and won't get much better or at all.  The top 2% of the players here have the time and money (some of it mine) to play multiple times,  most of us neither have the money or the time.

Just a little vent but something along these lines would spur interest where it is lacking once you make the Tour Legend tier imo.

I now return you to your regularly scheduled programming.

You can't make the holes longer or the greens faster. Surely a separation just based on averages would just create more sandbaggers.

That may be true,  but do you think you have a chance?  Are you that good to shoot a 57 or better and do it on the first day of qualifying?  There are over 16 Legends and Tour Legends in our club,  they lost interest the first day of qualifying along with myself.  These players need a tier of their own imo.  I would hope someday I could enter that tier, but for the next year or years to come it is beyond my skill level.

True but you can change pars 5 to pars 4 and pars 4 to pars 3 and pars 3 to pars 2 just for them to make it more interesting.

The Majors on here are just for the Elite. Surely that's the way it should be. There are hundreds of other tournaments to try for.

We agree to disagree,  2% of 2.5 million players should not rule or be privileged to do anything more than the 98% of paying customers.  Check the other tournaments,  most of the names you see below the cut line in the majors win those too.   Nuff said.

From the way I play, they already make the holes too darn small imo.  Need to be like the size of a bucket.

It doesn't matter what tier anyone is in. The Us Open is for everyone. You could have the Superdupershoot55everytime tier but they'd still be in the same tournament as everyone else.

Compared to RL that looks a very favourable % for the have nots I would have said.

I don't see any room for more tiers with the sandbagging issues we have. Even if that were solved (Utopia indeed) anything else is always below anyway.  Many CCs have handicap type stuff though which can be fun.

Your numbers are based on a false premise. 100% of the WGT members have the opportunity to succeed if they are willing to sacrifice. When you see those low scores it's the result of desire, preparation and sacrifice. There's no privilege involved. We all are afforded the same opportunity. They separate themselves through preparation and the desire to hone their execution to the finest edge. If we're not willing to sacrifice as much, we'll never get the results they do.
