I heard it was for the players who get all jacked-up on a meth pipe while enjoying friendly competition.

It doesn't say anything about "speed" brackets - FAQ Home

Tie breakers are determined by the best score on the last hole.  If there is still a tie it works it's way back to the first hole.

Really?? Does it not work the same as normal tie breakers?

Thanks for that I just wondered because I had 6 birdies but I had a 7 on the 2nd hole when I hit the tree, and I did not birdie the last hole, he had 3 birdies.

    hi

I inadvertently entered one yesterday - all I looked for were the courses as I refuse to play the par 3 course and I detest Kiawah. To be honest I had forgotten there were speed brackets. So I entered, started to play and got a phone call - spoke for 10-15 minutes and resumed.

I got to 18 at Merion B9, -6 with a 15 foot putt for bird - and got the dreaded "this tournament has expired" or the like.

What a waste of ball use - and I will never play one again. But to compound matters 50% of the field were WD - what a pointless meaningless waste of time and ball use if half the players cannot be bothered to play or do not finish in time.

30 minutes is usually more than enough time to finish, but I assume you then have another 30 minutes to complete the next round if you won the previous round?

So if you get to the final you have to dedicate 2 hours to these speed brackets - screw that. So if the 9 holes take 20 minutes - you have to wait and decline mates invites!

NO THANKS. From now I will stick to CC Brackets only.
