    When I got me the right wedges (lvl38 that is) I put a full stop to putting from fringe.

    The 64W chip is a perfect shot from the fringe when you're close.  :-)

    +1

    Alas, there are a lot of obstacles. Add some elevation - chip stays short. Get a tad further out, chip is likely to be stuck on rough or fairway...

    My favourite shot still is the pitch, less sensible to rough and elevation, and I'm learning to love the flop - just to please Courteney ;)

    Better clubs are necessary for the art of flopping, L79+ ATV or Cleves, and top balls. My L33 Callies still show some roll - no darting - but this leaves more hope for a roll-in.

    At BPB #13. I always chip from there..easy shot. At Oakie #3 I have great success with a flop from there, but rarely allow myself to go there ;-}

    I agree. The chip is a fussy shot that has its place and does quite nicely taking up the slack to the pitch. CBay has many very makeable chip opportunities for birdies and eagles. :-)

    Great move Paul !! Listen to Miss Fish...once you master the flop, you will never return to the silly, sugar tit` pitch shot....your worst flop will be better than your best pitch ;-}

    If I'm in the short stuff, a pitch is essentially always better. That wasn't the case in the past, but with my new wedge/ball combo, anything more than a foot from pitching in was probably a bad shot. Not that I actually make many, but I almost make a ton of them.
