Thanks for the explanations, Alanti.
Please allow me to disagree in one detail: It's not slave work. Slaves are forced to work for their living without any alternative to inhuman conditions, many examples available in past and presence. On the contrary, we DO have the choice of our free will, and I suppose that every gamer's basic needs are covered when they sit at a PC and play the game!
Of course, a deal is a deal - whose who promise credits should deliver. OTOH, I've yet to find a user's statement "I WATCH all these vids", so I wonder about the real worth of such occupation.
It's also important to me to be concious that we're not talking about money though they push this wrong impression. It's software licenses for entertainment, some are free, most have their price. "I want my money back!" is a demand far from any reality. No pun intended, but those who live on the "time is money" principle certainly would not waste their time with this crap (duFuss' wording).
ISH, don't talk about equal conditons - worth and distribution of these things vary widely around the world. Be informed that the vids had been taken down a while ago, and due to massive users' intervention they were re-installed, but compensation was halved. Plus, AFAIR, all "views" accounts had been cleared in the meantime.
Now, while I decided that the remaining time of my life is worth more than the meagre compensation given for vids and surveys, others may go that way. They know or learn about the conditions and have every opportunity to choose, yes or no!
And once they feel cheated without cheating from their side, there are two options:
Turn away or file a suit. Yes, I know that only the former option is realistic.
