I like to invite all of those out there who have ever had issues with (and I know you have) with the caddy feature. I've asked and asked WGT too come up with a way for a player to have the option to simply turn that feature off, but they simply refuse to do anything about it! So I'm asking all of you out there to sigh you good names here if you've ever had the wrong club handed to you, or had the club you selected reset when you were not looking resulting in some truly spectacular mis adventures like I have all to many times!!!

I mean how hard can it be to add the ability to shut that inept little guy off under the Menu?Options area??? Come on WGT this is not only a useless feature, it costs strokes and only makes most players to have steam coming outta their ears by the end of the day!!!

So please good WGT members add your name to this petition.

They are planning to add that feature/option. Myself personally I am fine with the current caddy system. Would rather deal with changing clubs/shot type 50% of the time rather than 100% of the time if the caddy were completely turned off. Can't remember the last time I hit the wrong club because I always double check before pulling the trigger making it a non-issue.

Edit - Do you really want to spend 2-3 seconds each drive selecting a driver, then selecting a full shot on every par 4/5. Or selecting a putter, then 15 ft meter on every 1 foot putt? Having no caddy would drive me completely insane wasting that much time.

i agree. we are lazy people. so change when necessary than choose club all the time , then you come to appreciate current system.

WGT sadly seems to blindly focus on must be an immediate $ today in it for them. Maybe they are uncertain of the future, and can't see mileage in just improving the game for the long run???

That said they have just brought out a new course. Maybe that was a sponsorship requirement or maybe whatever. Overall though game feature wise it's $ today or does not happen.

Fundamentally WGT is a great platform, and if this were the only issue I would be feeling way more generous toward WGT.

The caddie is useless, and best to play as if not there IMO. It should of course be fixed or at least an option to dump, but on the list of things round here it is way down any list.

A few improvements to the caddy's club selection would do for me. Going back to the putting scale you have already chosen instead of the original default scale after using chip view would be good. Not choosing a huge scale from the fringe would be handy. And not choosing stupid shots around the green would avoid a lot of confusion for newbies. How many starter club players come here asking why their chips around the green don't go anywhere? - too many.

The funny thing is , is that when they put in the background noises , and clapping , players complained . After about a month of complaining , the option to turn it off was installed . Players have been complaining about the caddy , for at least 2 years , that I know of , yet it remains . I dont pay it any attention now , and make my own club selections .

It would be nice to turn it off , as most of us dont use it anyway . But as long as WGT can use it to cause miss hits, and lost balls , it will remain . But as to your petition, you can count me in . I`m all for getting rid of the caddy . :-)
