    k88ss:

You do make my point.  I could care less about par 5's.  I play most of them in 3 shots and have great opportunities at birdies, usually inside 10 feet..

It is the par 4's that I am hitting 3 woods into the green, or  some I can not even reach in 2.

Yes... It does take a good approach shot, and those approaches would be closer to the pin by having 1 to 2 clubs less to hit into the green.  So the driver does play a BIG role in my score, (everyone's score) especially from the Legend tees.

For those who do not agree, why did you get the best driver you could, why not settle for what you had before?   play a round teeing off with only your 3wood and see how many strokes you gain.

well, thanks for letting me vent.

I didn't understand how the Form worked... I was hoping WGT might have something to say.  Was not my goal to stir the he golfing world into a fight... sorry abut that.

Why not try the r11 irons over the nikes better than a driver imo

u rented the sldr did u not prefer it over the ping ?

    This ^^^^

The SLDR appears to be a brilliant driver and since it's now available at L79 anyone under L96 but L79 or higher would be mad not to get it.  The only thing to touch it is the R1 at L98 or the BB at L96, many, many months of play away for most.

Get the SLDR as soon as possible, makes a vast difference.

    Then there is no problem

A better 3 wd and R11 irons will solve that, like everyone has been telling you!

    Because we can, you can't!

Why would we tee off with a 3wd, we all did what your doing with much inferior equipment , YOU have a huge selection of GOOD drivers that we didn't have to chose from when we were there, and WAY better irons at lower levels, GEEEEEZUS....

One of the best players on this site just told you HE plays with the SLDR, and I know for a fact he has the R1 and Nike Covert, but that went right over your head! Every legend feels just like you do, most of them deal with it, then there are the few who think they are entitled to instant gratification....you've been given a lot of good advice...good luck!

edit: I don't think you understand, I have all the longest clubs in my bag and have played BPB front 5-6 times the last few days...seems I run into headwinds every time on #7 and have had to hit my 3wd on the approach shot all but one round....same with Pine #4 and a few others....point is those drivers don't mean a 7i approach is automatic

    Spot on Dan.

I got to legend and kept playing for quite a while with G10 irons and an R9 driver.  I honestly can't remember which 3 wood I used but I'll bet every single club in my bag it was inferior to what is available today from L70 upwards.

When I see the great clubs available at pretty low levels these days it makes me wonder why so many still feel the need to moan and say they have it tough.  For feck's sake, there's a driver at level 48 that will see you right through to the one at L98 no problem at all.  There is also a huge range of irons that simply did not exist 2 years ago, all of them better than the ones I used to have.  Sadly the old G10 and i15 irons have gone from the pro shop, otherwise all those who feel they are under privileged could give them a try and see what it used to be like.

I'm of course aware than you're not really bothered about your own scores per se, it's your scores comapred to what other players are hitting.  You want to be able to do that too, right?  Well, maybe after another 2,000 rounds you'll be able to.   Meanwhile, just play your own game, enjoy the birdies and celebrate the eagles.

Don't compare your scores to the best in the game, it'll only depress you.

As the OP stated in his last post, he's sorry for creating any stir in this thread, those were not his intentions.  I also had no intention of causing any big to do, just was looking for informative discussion as I summarized in my very 1rst post.

To the four posters /  respected members of the community, MainzMan-- Courtney--Fatdan---and Scott Hope--- sorry for what might have appeared to be singling you 4 out---  again not my intentions.  All of you answered my inquiries with honest and polite answers, just what would be expected from respected members such as you all are.

To the poster who decided to turn this thread into his personal vendetta for whatever reason that could be---  try leaving your ego at the door next time, and learn something for honest comments from others.  Stirring the pot will only bring frustration and bad karma--- there's enough frustration with the workings of this site and the glitches that it presents.

Shoot low---Keep the Faith--- Peace Ed

The clubs we used back in 2009-2011 or so was what really made this game stand out over other golf games.  I haven't played many golf games, but I tried Tiger Woods online at one point and made an ace my first game out, as well as shooting birdies fairly easily.  Now this game comes down to having to throw darts if you want to consistently do good.

I enjoyed making it into the 2010 US Open at Bethpage(or whatever year it was).  That course was very, very difficult back then as you had to play it in hopes of even landing on the green.  Now when I play I'm upset if I'm more than 1-2 yard away.  Of course I am pretty far off a lot because I ding 1 out of 10 shots.  My reaction times could use some work.
