You do make my point. I could care less about par 5's. I play most of them in 3 shots and have great opportunities at birdies, usually inside 10 feet..
It is the par 4's that I am hitting 3 woods into the green, or some I can not even reach in 2.
Yes... It does take a good approach shot, and those approaches would be closer to the pin by having 1 to 2 clubs less to hit into the green. So the driver does play a BIG role in my score, (everyone's score) especially from the Legend tees.
For those who do not agree, why did you get the best driver you could, why not settle for what you had before? play a round teeing off with only your 3wood and see how many strokes you gain.
