Is it just me or do the new legend balls provide no increase in distance?

For the last 6 months, I've been shooting the SD balls with two circles on the distance scale. I thought they were great. I saw a huge increase in distance on just about every club. The new legend balls, with three circles on the distance scale, are allegedly supposed to provide a "sufficient increase in distance" as a means "to tune the experience without compromising the challenges that should be faced as a Legend."* All I see on the golf course with these new balls is a nominal increase in distance and the only "tune" I hear is one you can find at a county fair.

    What a disappointment!

WGT, stop playing charades with us -- put your clowns and cheap ring games away and give us some legend clubs.

Yes, I noticed that the new legend balls hardly give any increase in distance at all. Maybe 5-10 yds sometimes.... not all... I really don't understand WGT... What are they trying to do?? Masters and Legends have same clubs with same distance but legends have to play from 50 yds farther.... LMAO. Maybe they want to get rid of the legend players... I don't know but they sure aren't doing enough to fix this unfairness. Enough with these new balls.... a better idea would be new driver for legends or just moving up the tee box. This is just so pathetic that it makes me laugh.

I agree with u Tarheel, the balls only go a few yards farther.   However, they seem to stop on the greens  better than what I was playing.  A driver that goes 35-50 yards farther is what we need...

35-50 would completely erase the penalties imposed upon us.  14-16 yard increase would be ok with me.  Unfortunately, the balls are more like a 3-yard increase.

The new balls are yet another failed attempt to right a wrong.  Still not sure why WGT throws crap like this out.  I applaud their DESIRE to meet us half way but this is absurd.  Why the hell they don't use a control group of testers is beyond me!

I've played over 50 rounds with them now.  Done plenty of comparisons with people playing my same equipment but the old GI SD balls.  Average on shots that we both ding and aimed in the same spot is about 3 yards.  Yes 3 yards.  Certainly not worth the extra $$$ and I have bought my last GI SD2.

Now I could understand if the ball only gave us a small yardage increase but also had 1 or 2 more dots of spin so we could actually keep a 4 iron from rolling out 11 yards on many greens even into a headwind.

Well, I set my longest drive ever with new ball. The new legend ball is wild and i've seen some major devs on some really easy shots. In my opinion 8-10 yards longer with nice wind, 3-5 longer with slight miss, unless you catch dev lol. Not worth it at all to play new ball. Opinion on driver only not enough data for irons, but seemed real close to reg sd ball to me. JB

I had a 359 yard drive with the new ball, but it was all owed to an awesome bounce.  It only carried 1-2 yards further than what is typical, but when it hit the backend of a small hill, it took off like a rocket for about another 80 yards.

Bounce is usually hard to predict, but carry is pretty consistent, and I can't say that I've been carrying anything that I couldn't with GI-SDs.  Can't get over the hill, muchless over the sand, in order to cut the KIA 10 approach from 155-165 down to 80-100.  I haven't ever been on KIA 11 in 2 as a legend, and the new balls didn't change that.  Can't fly over the sand traps on KIA 18 and ride the hill down to a ~160-170 yard shot.  Still dealing with 200-220 there.  Still have to occasionally pull my driver out for the 240-yard BPB par 3.

I'm using them for now, but I might end up back on GI-SDs.
