    Hi All,

I have played here since 6/2009, many here know me, but I am confused about my stats.

The last hundred or more ranked rounds I have hit numerous 100% driving Averages, numerous 100% GIR, and based on my driving average for distance, I came ups with a 317 yard average, but my displayed stats are much, much lower.

They haven't changed in like forever.

    Can someone tell me why?

WGT Alex, can you answer this?

Is there a bug or something?

    Please advise!

Stats should be updated in the split second between your last click and the roll into the last hole - did you ever notice the wee delay? Bugs may be possible but have not been reported here.

Have in mind that the stats count from the very beginning, from the first Hack game. After your 1490 RRs, they move quite slowly, maybe not visible through one round.

An example: Adding one game of 317 yds average to a 288(.0) yds average of 1500 games will move the average by 0.019 yds - you'd need 27 games of 317 to visibly move your stats to 289 - twice as much if the first value were 287.51 displayed as 288.

My tip: Save a screen shot now and compare it after - say - 100 rounds.

My 2 Pfennig: Don't look into the stats so intensly - enjoy the game!!

For the genuine player just turning in most rounds (WDs from RGs etc when higher up are part of life with modern day ball costs) the ultra slow moving stats are not a strong point of the WGT experience.  That's to say the very least.

Off topic a little now maybe but they are talking about a new tier being v possible.  Maybe when they do that they could also reset the stats for it as well as getting par 3 / 5 stats out completely.  I know resource is an issue for them but throwing in clapping when stuff like this is out there..mind boggles who makes the decisions sometimes.

The answer can be found in the power of large numbers in the denominator.

Take your average drive for example.

Average drive distance = Total yards of all drives / number of dives

Looking at your mix of 9 versus 18 hole rounds you have about 10,700 drives

The difference that has to be made up between your current 288 and 289 is the same number 10,700 yards.

Lets say you are averaging 294 right now (hey there are holes one tees off and does not hit full power and on back 9 of Merion there are two holes you use your 3 wood for drives).

That 5 yards difference means you need to tee off 2,140 times to see a change

Averaging 10 yards difference (299 current average) means you need to tee off 1,070 times to see a change.

That is a lot of rounds....

Good question TT03. We asked years ago about having at least a yearly stats page. Your average is not gonna change much for lifetime stats either if you've played here a while so these are not needed. And a 44 for best 18?  Par 3 is not legit 18 imo. Start there admin2.

    Hi

as others have stated, most stats are updated as soon as you turn in your round. There are some awards that have issues, which may keeps stats from updating properly.

Best way for us to find these is for you to keep a close eye on your stats and if you, for example, hit 100% gir in last round and game says so but your stats didn't update, then without closing the current window, right click on it and submit a detailed bug report.

this will help us track them down :)

First and foremost I have never seen WGT not updating stats immediately after ending a round and I do track way to much.

Second, I agree with you that on some stats like GIR% where there are two decimal points - over the last 11 rounds my GIR% has gone up 0.17 but I have "only" 5,787 greens in the denominator. However, if we track (or WGT shows) 82% to 83% for GIR it takes a good 100 + really good rounds for it to be seen....

The OP has 10,700 in the denominator for avg drive yards and 12,330 for GIR% . With those numbers even a round of 100% GIR might not change the GIR% but I have not tried to figure that out. Certainly for average drives it could be many months.

Here 4 years with zero activity and you show up, dig up an old thread and proclaim this like you don't know why?

    What are you up to?

Must be another account at level 15 because you are only at level 3 on this one.
