Since wgt was able to photograph the old course im sure you they would be allowed to photograph one of the other 18 hole courses from st andrews links: the castle course, new course, jubilee course, eden course or strathtyrum course.

if wgt get on well with the guys at "the home of golf" im sure they would welcome you back to do your thing. we really need another links course on wgt, there must be someone from the uk or ireland that wants their course on wgt.

The 2 UK courses we have are both British Open venues.

Most of the US courses we have are US Open venues.

I would speculate that being an Open venue makes a course more attractive for addition to WGT.

it seems hard for wgt to get uk courses, im sure if they got one of the other courses from st andrews links it would be a big hit on here. from reading a bit about the new course at st andrews online and looking a photos it looks great. it is more narrow and has a few double greens like the old course.

it does not look like we will get another open championship (british open) course on wgt so if they had the chance add another uk course they should, it can only be a good thing for wgt to have another links course on here.

The New and Jubilee courses next to the Old Course are great courses with a similar yet different character. Both aren't as wide as the former. The New, for example, has hilly dunes next to the 7th/11th green of the Old! (It also surrounds the 9th+10th holes that we play.)

Two details make  them attractive for golf tourists:

    - They are not as restrictive concerning tee times (The New has none at all),
    - the green fee is high but not through the roof.

Alas, me thinks they miss an important feature to become WGT courses: Pro tees! Given the skills and equipment of our top players, only courses which have hosted Tour tournaments seem to be eligible.

The Castle Course there or Castle Stuart near Inverness (or Royal Aberdeen or Carnoustie...) may have better chances if they agree.

Come on people, there is an easy way to get new courses on WGT!

    WGTadmin2:
Sorry I do not see another UK course on the roadmap, but if you call your favorite course and ask them to join WGT it could help.

    WGTadmin2:

Just send a note to the course general manager and tell them there is a great golf game out there with millions of golfers and they should have their course featured next to the top courses in the world.

    LMFAO

To me, a big part of the forum contributions is a Course Petition. We've been asking for British courses, we've been asking for Pebble, each week someone asks about an extension of the CTTH courses.

(N.B.: Which of these has PGAtour tees?)

And, we WILL get new courses. Bandon Dunes Par 3, Pebble Beach full 18, at unknown times. I'm also optmistic about Chambers Bay next year though I don't remember any official announcement until now.

There's just no signs pro British courses...

Whilst petitions and players asking for equipment will probably have input whether WGT will implement that equipment, I believe that we have as much chance of asking a course manager to consider contacting WGT for inclusion and being successful as Australia have winning the next Football World Cup.

I agree Alosso, we WILL get new courses - the courses will be the US Open courses and perhaps one other if we are lucky (and a pitch and putt course does not come into the equation as I will not play it).

Courses outside the US are probably not even considered these days - which sort of makes a mockery of the World part in there name.

But what Admin2 says is farcical - as it will have no impact unless that course says that they will pay the costs (or majority thereof) for the course to be shot and developed. Pigs might just fly in admin2's mind, but not in reality.

Hey, let's give Admin some credit as he might be on to something. If hpurey was able to get us Yellow Callaways, maybe we can join together and start a Course Petition?

a petition would be a good start to see if it would help

there is plenty of links courses in the uk and ireland with pro tees, if they cant get an open course they could get a scottish or irish open course.

if they could get the new course at st andrews im sure the scores would be the same as they are on the old course. it probably doesnt matter what length of course is on wgt the top players will always get crazy good scores.

I said something similar in an old thread.

They could/should have done the New and Jubilee courses when they photographed the Old, all the people and equipment were already there, would have been a cost effective way of adding new courses. The New and Jubilee are tougher courses IRL, would have been good to see them on here too.

Also agree about the scores, doesn't really matter what number some players can go round in, the concept remains the same- lowest score wins.
