MartyFlanagan:im suggesting it for the open championship,
I am never against choice. Those that want UEL I wish you well.
MartyFlanagan:st andrews is a great course for uneven lies, there is not much thinking involved playing on even lies, its always driver off the tees with no course management.
II get where you are going. I do think this game can be over thought though. To score really well (WGT low well) takes ability in flat lies.
Since they dropped the whacko effect of the angles on the fways (that was just computer game nonsense) that part is OK. There is an issue with some of the closer in stuff though. I get it that the answer is to keep it flat (know your yardages basically which is same for both). .
I would say UELs has the issue of reducing some close in stuff to luck too much, but an UELs player may say well do not bring it in to play. Go round all day like that:)
At the end of the day it's a computer game and if you can play UELs you can play flat and vice versa, and so which ever version floats your boat at the end of the day.
