    alanti:
But (this is for DB and WGT) is there any way of sorting the lists so it takes into account the number of members - there are some smaller clubs with a very high XP/members ratio and would not disadvantage the smaller clubs who would never otherwise be featured.

I was just talking about this exact thing with other people here at wgt.  What it looks like will happen is we will feature clubs at the top of the leaderboard for the short term.  Once we have gotten through those, we will move to featuring other clubs who may have a smaller membership base or clubs that have a interesting story.

One suggestion I made to WGTdbloshoe was that WGT show the cumulative points that CCs have earned.

Much like they do for credit earnings by CCs.

I have tried to work that out and you will excuse me for a wrong number off here or there, but as these numbers change every minute it is hard for me to capture one moment in time.

This is the list of the top five CCs as of about 6 minutes ago.

    Country Club XP Leaders

    Club Name Points
    The Peoples Club 1180563
    Eagle Club Golf Association 937580

I agree - that both a cumulative tabke and a weekly table would be good for those statistically inclined.

But further to my point earlier (and DB - greatmind think alike lol) here is the table above (and as Ed says, these figures do change constantly) with the cumulative table pro rated according to the members.

I added in the Lakeside Park Country Club to highlight how this affects the overal picture.

    Club Name Points Members Average
    Lakeside Park CC 257256 33 7796
    Eagle Club Golf Association 937580 197 4759
    The Peoples Club 1180563 250 4722

I quite agree Alanti and I expect they'll have some different tables by next Wednesday as I can't see them featuring my club twice.

You never know, and after all you obviously do a great job there - I know several members and they can't speak highly enough about the club.

Also I must state - I have no, or never had any affiliation with the Lakeside Park CC - I used it as an example

This is no reflection to the Weekly winners,  as everybody in the club (whoever wins)  does a great Job.

One thing that has been bugging me or playing on my small mind since this has started is.... The CC's with the most amount of members and who is financial enough to buy extra passes will always be at the top of list...  as I said before that's great...  no problems with that.

With the Little CC's like mine and quite a few others....  We have No Chance to be CC of the Week,   We might have 80 or so members, but only 25 regulars having a great time each week who don't  usually purchase the pass's

Where are the Elite Cc's      as a challenge for them....  where are they....lol

I agree Roger - hence why I have suggested this gets "weighted according to the number of members in a club. Yes clubs who have "financial clout" will of course be advantaged.

But I did take the liberty to look at your club - you have 84 members - if they all used their pass daily to maximise the XP, on a daily basis your members would have a minimum of 84,000 points (based on a conservative 1000 points including the daily bonus).

But out of your 84 members 16 have not played at all this year, with several players last rounds dating back to 2012.

I am not being critical of you as we all have our reasons, but those members are dead wood - with my suggestion those players would drag down your average contributions.

Personally being a member of a CC, I think I owe it to the owner to play on a regular basis - not daily but if you are playing on WGT, you should be devoting some time to the CC.

At the end of the day, there are limited rewards for the CC contribution and subsequent levels, the reward is really bragging rights - I suppose not many small clubs can attain that, some but not many.

Big clubs didn't get big by accident. There's no reason that any club can't get bigger.

I wish all of em were active members of the club...lol.

As I said before we have about 25 active people playing...  no set rules,  Just have fun and dare to dream...  We all have a great time playing and I basically know everybody's name...lol

There is a few Life Members of the Club, that will always be there.  At the end of year I would delete all the other players who haven't played a game for the last year or so.

This is True too Courteney....  but I don't really want to have a Club as big as yours.  It will be great, but way too big for us to handle.  I do envy you and your helpers for running a great Club

I have no Problems with a Post like this....   I think it's great.    The only thing I'm concerned about the bigger clubs ..  no offence to them....  will be the CC of The Week ... every week...lol

....  Wgt should have a Random CC of the week ...   highlighting any/all  longtime clubs.

I do believe that WGT stated that they will focus “in the short term” on the Country Clubs that are participating and at or near the top of the leaderboards. That seems fair and I can understand why, WGT would like to continue to develop interest in the additions in the latest updates. After that, as mentioned above, WGT will focus on Country Clubs with a smaller membership base or an interesting story.

In the long run I believe WGT will highlight all of the worthy Country Clubs that are out there and deserve recognition for whatever reason.

With respect to size of Country Clubs and the thought that the larger clubs will always be on top I ran a few numbers as of about 4pm WGT time.  Any Country Club that had as few as 100 members where all 100 members played one free CC pass in a CC Tourney every day as their first round would be in first place right now (cumulatively speaking). A CC that has as few as 83 members could be in first place right now if all 83 played both free passes in two CC tourneys every day.

From that respect size can be important but more important is the participation rate irrespective of size. For example, there are just as many CCs with 240 or more members that are at Level 2 (<15K CC XPs) as there are at Level 6 (>837K CC XPs).
