    EasyEdward:

With respect to size of Country Clubs and the thought that the larger clubs will always be on top I ran a few numbers as of about 4pm WGT time.  Any Country Club that had as few as 100 members where all 100 members played one free CC pass in a CC Tourney every day as their first round would be in first place right now (cumulatively speaking). A CC that has as few as 83 members could be in first place right now if all 83 played both free passes in two CC tourneys every day.

From that respect size can be important but more important is the participation rate irrespective of size. For example, there are just as many CCs with 240 or more members that are at Level 2 (<15K CC XPs) as there are at Level 6 (>837K CC XPs).

    Nice post mate :)

Big clubs didn't get big by accident. There's no reason that any club can't get bigger

That's the good thing about the WGT C Club feature .. you can make your club anything you want.  Big or small ... they can be whatever you want them to be.

Folks ask me about Deviations all the time ... maybe here's the right place for some info.

I like to say our C Club has been around for 5 years now --- that's about a year before WGT even had the C Club feature.   The majority of our folks started hanging together in a chat room Mid 2009 .. around the time of the BP open.   That's when our club was founded.

We keep our membership small, preferring the active members to get to know folks before they are asked to join.   That doesn't mean Bollox doesn't get tons of requests --- but  we've tried 3 times adding a folks no one knew too well but those 3 folks decided the club was not for them and moved on.

If folks come by the chat room and have some "staying power" they'll be asked to join.   We don't really care if your good at WGT and/or even play a lot.  We add folks who just play poker with us or participate in our fantasy sports leagues.

I'm often asked why we don't delete people from our roster when they don't play.   We've had folks who have been away from the game for over a year come back to find they are still wanted.   Angel had a family tragedy that forced him to stop playing - he came back after a year.  AvLee retired - but still stops by to play poker once in a while.   We don't really care about statistics --- and/or which club gets recognition.

But I will say one thing --- our members know each other by name, we talk to each other on the phone, we've met in person (I've played real golf with 10 of them myself) --- some of us have gone on golf trips together.   We visit each other as we travel the country on business & take vacations.   We know when folks get married, graduate college, and celebrate birthdays --- we know when folks get divorced, have tragedies and have loved lost.

Clubs can be big / small ... personal or impersonal ... for WGT players or just for social reasons .... WGT C Clubs can can be whatever you like ....

That right there is what you call a great CC!!! Regardless of them having the top players, and considerable earnings to boot.

We at English Lakes are also a small club, but find the same problems as Roger stated above.Lack of participation! But we have a good group of players who regulary play WGT together and have fun. We'll never be on top of CC of the week but we personally don't care about that,as it's neither here or there, why some People here are worried about never being on this table is beyond me.

Oh and Lou if your doing a fantasy football(soccer) send us the link as i'd love to be able say i kicked the Deviations ass,as this would never happen trying to play you guys on WGT lol.

    Lou-

    I can confirm-

Although not a member of the Dev's CC, I was graciously invited to join three of their members in a real life golf outing. I had the pleasure of playing golf IRL with lvietri, fuzzygazz and beachedmulligan in NY a few months back and I have to tell you....I couldn't have met a nicer group of guys. I had an absolute blast....I played like crap, but still had fun meeting these guys face to face, they're a great group of guys.

Talking American Football her Russ (but you knew that - ha ha ha ) We have 24 guys in 2 leagues going this year.

Personally I haven't been into the world football (soccer) game since high school ... but now that I've dropped 75 lbs since Jan 1 and can see my feet again maybe I'll get interested ... :)

Oh and if you ever get a chance to meet and/or play real golf with Wayne (MrCaddie) ... he's a class guy .. he goes with the flow .... :)
