First and foremost I want to acknowledge our CC Owner
CourteneyFish. While I know that most CC owners spend a lot of time making
their CC a fun experience Courteney eats, sleeps and breathes The Peoples Club.
As a member of The
Peoples Club for just about 20 months I knew the minute I showed up as
an amateur that I had found a home.
The Tournaments outside of the regular CC tourneys are
varied, enjoyable and sometimes downright silly. We have had a Saddie Hawkins
Tourney (the women selected their partner), starter club and ball Match Play
tourneys, we have had a Points Championship Tour (styled on Fed Ex Cup) that
has run for 68 weeks, Ryder Cups (USA vs The World), regularly scheduled Sweet
16 Match Play Tourneys, Lower Tier Tourney with gifts, we have a rolling Alt
Shot Tourney and a Rolling Champion Tourney. Right now we even have a Scrambling
Banger tourney where each Fairway or Green in Regulation costs you a penalty stroke.
When you are in a fun Country Club where all the members
play regularly and Forum participation is high there is no question that you
will want to participate in improving your CC.
The Peoples Club
is one where you can pull up a bar stool and have a good time. We celebrate our
successes (popular posts are Post your Best Putts, Post your Best Shots and
News from the Clubhouse), moan about our failures (Post Your Best Blooper),
share who you are and what you like (Music Videos and Best Movie Clips).
I, for one, would also like to give a pat on the back to Eagle Club Golf Association. For
the entire first week of this new WGT experience the lead changed almost hourly
between their Country Club and ours, with fewer members they proved they had a committed
group as well.
