    AgentBrown123:
    wind hard to judge

Maybe off topic a little.  I do find cross wind versus more head and tail wind sometimes hard to judge.

Often I look at the camera angles on my approach shot and scratching my head go with mostly cross wind say.  I can then end up hitting long or short and once up there clearly it was just more across.  I realise some holes play differently and before PH just accepted some players have way more XP, and so would know more.  Shooting very low day one said those extra XPs may not be all it' s cracked up to be though, more just being able to distinguish cross wind from head or tail better off the bat?

After I am up there at the green I can see the reason as the cam angle then shows what the wind is doing, but can't see how I could have told that  on the approach shot.  Not one for this thread really I know, but any views.

OK the extra XPs I was only referring to because more = more experience.  A L108 player has played a course way more than even a L98 player, and so knows that hole more and any nuances.  I think we all accept experience counts for loads...some holes just play different etc etc etc

I maybe do not trust the flag animation enough, and maybe should check that more closely.  Thanks for the point.  You are saying that you trust that more than the wind indicated by the camera angles camera angles?  It's those I look at more currently and sometimes get caught out.  Now as said get on the green the camera then indicates what happened if long or short, but too late then:)  It's not an every time issue by any stretch, but if there is a trick I am missing I am all ears.

I also find the camera angles decieving . Similar to the forward and reverse putting cameras

OK.  But never deceived by the flag animation as to what's going on for the approach shot??  Just for clarity.

All I'm saying is that the game can be figured out. It's not all random and VEM VEM VEM.

I think the wind is what most people miss judge. It's hard to assess at times. Burchell said it was probably bad programming since they changed it to approximately a certain wind. But whether or not it is -- it's a benefit for wgt at this point with all this slow meter and auto dinging crap.

I personally think wgt made the wind hard to judge on purpose to make it difficult for cheaters. Hopefully these cheaters don't figure out the wind.

I just enjoy trying to wind WGT team up jon ;-)

It's my little way of BURCHELL VEM backatcha

They have there own ideas on f king my shots up,and i damn well know i have my own ways of f king my shots up lol

The avatar and camera angles are sometimes skewed and inconsistent and I've made a ton of observations about it in the forum. But even after close inspection, the wind vane and the camera angles (e.g. camera forward, reverse, zoom, player aim forward, player aim-on-pin etc.) all present a challenge on depicting the basic, exact wind bearing.

I've had some great results with my method so I'm not going to play with fire unless I run into some bad scores.

What flag animation? Is the flag moving in the wind and I missed that for over 2 years or are you describing something else? As for the camera angles, I find that the one behind the green gives me the most accurate reading (when in doubt). Plus the fact you can see whether the crosswind is more head or tail (and how much bite it has) on your drive, so you can expect the similar on your approach. Except on some holes (St. A. #4 comes to mind), where the crosswind usually mellows out on the 2nd shot.

U can turn on flag animation in game options...I never found it to be any more accurate than the arrows myself..
