I've been saying that VEM doesn't happen much but the level of difficulty to shoot under 30 these last 3 days is about 9.9/10. With the exception of a random 25 thrown in I feel like I'm playing with a whiffle ball just flying everywhere and the hole is the size of a needle. Normally this bad play would stop after a day at most but this just won't quit. No idea what to even think anymore.

I hear you, for the past 6 days been in a real slump too, 2-3 shots worse per round than I would expect v wind set, coming out the other end now but its been painful and expensive.

You have to not only learn how to play the game , but also how the game plays. There is more to it than just hitting the ding and the deviations are more than just shots going long or short .

Yes, it takes time and experience (and some good judgement) to understand how certain holes play, which putting grids "lie", what are circles of precision and forgiveness and how big are they for different clubs. But the VEM part of it is understanding how the sizes of these circles change depending of the level of skill the player is showing. Only then you can understand how a dinged shot in zero wind with perfect strength, aimed 2y left of pin can land 2y right of pin and know that VEM didn't cause it.

Yea hopefully this slump ends soon. I can still hit some 29s or below but much less often right now. It seems like quite a few good people are struggling judging by the brackets I'm in. It looks like I have a round against you at BPB.

In other words, when you move up a tier, your scoring average resets to 71, or whatever it is, but the rest of your statistics never reset, so bringing a putting per hole average down will take quite some time.

Just wanted to explain how it works, cause I've seen you write this once before. After you tier up, your avg will stay the same as it was until you play your first ranked round after the promotion. And when you do, your avg becomes whatever score you post. If your 1st score after the promotion is a 25, your avg in the new tier will be 50, if your 2nd score is 30, your avg will then be 55, etc.

That's really all I'm saying. Other than the few ultra-arrogant players who post mostly to discourage other players, instead of encourage and offer helpful advice, like most TL's do. Which is what they, and I could put to use. They choose the negative stuff, which serves no other purpose than pumping up, what are already, super-sized ego's.

They know who they are and who I'm referring to.

Pretty sure you count me among those. Although in my defense, you kind of rubbed me the wrong way (and on a wrong day) in the thread where we had our 1st encounter. The comments I make are meant to be helpful most of the time. But I admit I can get nasty when I read someone vehemently stating something I know not to be true. And sometimes sarcasm (which I like) gets the better of me.

I don't know whether or not you read my final reply to you in the "Slow yer roll, WGT" thread (being a month late with it), but I tried to explain what I meant by my comments there. Granted, I mixed in a little "smartasstics" as well, but that's me, like it or not. The rest of it was completely true and meant exclusively to help you understand that what you're seeing is 99% not VEM related, it's just how the game plays. And at the risk of sounding inflated, I really do know something about how this game works and plays (far from knowing it all though).

P.S. : Thx for not giving me hell about the flag animation, I really only go into my "game settings" just to turn off the HIO challenges and putter and shot pals ;-)

I emailed VEM9000 as follows:

I am one of your adoring fans, as you know by now!
So I was wondering if perhaps you could point the VEM thingy away from me? Just one game!

and he replied:

VEM9000: I'm sorry for not replying sooner, but, some of my circuits were not functioning properly.You are "go" for a "VEM" free round, my pleasure.

That is funny .

The funniest thing is that you think a thread is is limited to one topic only . There is only so much we ( wgt players) can say about VEM other than we know it exists .

Current info on its specifics do not exist . And they arent giving it up .

So the issue is a dead horse .

Unless you insist that we keep talking about dead horses since it was the original thread .

There have been many interesting comments made off topic throughout this thread and as you can see many people respond .

That's how it works . In fact none of these even appear to have trollish characteristics ( meaning subjects other than golf ).

No point in starting a new post just for the sake of a new thread .
