I'm wondering... for those of you who do well on this game (i.e. top 100), did you buy a bunch of clubs to equip?

Is it possible to win with the default clubs?

With practice I've brought my score down a good bit in the last week or so, but I'm having a tough time mostly on the greens.  I'm not thinking a "new putter" will help much there.

I'm not a top 100 player mabye a top 100,000,000 player, but sure you can do good with those clubs.Do some reading before you buy ,meter speed is a little faster and you have to hit near perfect. Putting and short game is hard at first but you'll learn . have fun and keep your head down :)

Im assuming to compete in tournaments you have to buy clubs because I cant even get close to a birdie at beth page! I havent had a very difficult time on the standard courses but I dont even know how much credits cost! i cant find the actual prices to anything!!

    FAQ.... RTM ....

    Credits ... 1¢ each

100 = $1.00 unless you use American Express.. they give double credits.

This seems like such a great game/concept but it took me this long to find out how much it would cost me in real dollars to "upgrade".  That seems kinda shity to me.

do not purchase these upgraded clubs because they will only put money in their pockets and wont help you anyway the top players are already decided and are getting ready to go to US open  next year, all from your dollars spent..... dontcha feel good now

Stop it "Holmes" just stop it.. how many of you guys who play actual golf (Real on virtual) shoot low scores in the 70's and below? Stop kidding yourselves most of you are hacks in real life boggey golf at best!  Be straight about it.. if you cant buy upgrade equipment oh well dont buy it.. dont suggest to others not to buy, if you dont have a credit or debit card.. be honest do be mad at the folks at WGT. It's FREE you dont have to upgrade! I own three set's of Real club's , all of them cost some Big money! All of them are top of the line club's.. taylormade, Adams, yonex. .. I play taylormade and love em... get this.. I'm still a 12 HCP! Who should I blame? Clubs dont make your game score lower. they help you a bit more but unless your a tour player , you wont make a living doing this. This Game is just a virtual game to pass time when you have the time.. maybe you have too much time on your hands!

    1. The problem with this game is distance with the clubs. You can only hit your driver 235 yds with the Taylormade and 225 with the default clubs. So spending the money you don't add much of an advantage. At Bethpage there are 504 yd par 4's you cant get there in 2 shots. So it makes it very difficult to par. They need to do something different about the clubs you purchase.
