Why cmc, because you  say so?

I for one enjoy the difficulty of the game.  Makes it more US Open-y.  I recently bought the tour starters for $7 or so.  Make a big difference, and totally worth it.

I don't think so to, we are not able tobe on green on regular.  We are driving from the back tee with a 225 yards driver

    no sens !!

If I were to suggest a club which has improved my score it's worth upgrading your Driver to the Talor Made Driver for 750 credits (I think?) .. I have seen a 5 stroke difference since I upgraded!

    @ Holmes

Get real my friend.  The guys asking for advice - be constructive. Oh yeh - your stats dont look to shabby eh ?

Yes the money you spend goes to WGT - do you think for a second that all this is done for free. C'mon !!  You dont get paid with "washers" dont expect WGT to pay their people with "washers". The money goes to a good cause - so support it. ( PGA Tour & Tiger Woods 99 ETA games etc etc are not for free )

To be honest you do not need to spend a whole lotta money to get new clubs.

My advice - get yourself the "Tour Starter Set" about $7 + the New Taylor R9 driver $7. Thats all you need - at this point in time.  With practice you will be able to birdie some of the holes on BPB. The other holes -  you hang in and try and get pars, or minimise the damage and move to the next hole. BPB is a very difficult course - I wouldnt have it any other way.

If you can play well at BPB - you can play well anywhere.

Get yourself the new clubs if you can afford it - just buying the R9 driver will make a difference, and get on the practice fairways and practice your heart out. You will improve. Believe me. Another piece of advice - take notes on every hole you play. Use an exercise book or similar for each course and document your results - so the next time you play that course or hole you can refer back to your previous notes. You need to - it makes a big difference, certainly in the learning process anyway.

You wont magically come good overnight, but practice does make perfect. Play some multi rounds with friends etc and watch how they do it - just another learning experience.

Above all - enjoy the golf

    Cheers Doug

The difference in clubs is minimal, maybe very slight impovement but that is offset when they moved the tees back.

I wasted money on trying different clubs.  The default clubs will do about the same.  They have alot of work to do in that respect.

    Hi,

Sorry but disagree. The tour starters do make a difference, as does the R9 driver.

OK - the averages may not be that much more on paper, but on the course with practice those clubs will shave a heap of shots off your round. FACT. They did for me and many others who have bought them. That extra 10 - 15 yards and more sometimes, is all the difference you need.

I am almost playing par golf at BPB my best +2 (72) with those clubs. I can make all fairways, with the exception of one when the wind is in the wrong direction.I still need more practice though :-)

SO - for the cost, the clubs are well worth buying.

    Cheers Doug

    Bluebelly,

If all you are having trouble with is putting then that will come with time.  I haven't bought any clubs and I find that I'm just as good as a lot of the other players.

Spend $7.50 on the Taylor Made R9 driver. You'll be in the rough a little bit more often, and 225 in the fairway is usually better than 240 in the rough. But it least when you hit one on the nuts you get 240+ out of it. That extra 15 yards helps a lot on many holes.

I'd like to know what some of the guys who have club upgrades think are the most effective or "game helping" ones. Should I get a wedge or a driver etc.
