Imagine if we could attach a device to our actual golf shafts and it would detect the speed, angle and rotation of the club as we make a real swing. This then gets transmitted to our PC and is shown as our swing input on WGT. That really would be the most realistic golf game ever! A real golf swing with the real photo realistic view. And then imagine if all these swings were recorded and analyzed, so it could actually identify problems with your real swing, that would not only be interesting and useful, it would save a fortune on Pro lessons, how about then giving drills and advice based on the world leading Golf Pros and even walking you through corrective drills, so your WGT game AND your real golf game got better! Its not imaginary it is possible - just ask WGT for this - they now have the technology to do this! Lets get real golf in our living rooms now! Seriously - the technology is working now - just ask WGT for it here!

that would mean paying like $150 for a game that is right now practically free.

Wow what did take when you came up with that idea. No offence but its not a good idea to swing golf clubs in your house - you can hit all sorts of things. unless unlike me you live in a big house with high ceilings. Real golf clubs for real golf course. Virtual clubs for virtual golf course. Just a thought.

And WGT aren't even listening to ideas which take 5 mins to incorporate into the software.

There was a game that used half a club which emitted a light that reflected off a base with sensors...back in the 80's.  Connected with Links Golf...Obviously didn't catch on.

    Hi - I am Yancy

I seen a plastic thang at the 99 cent store - im cereal - that was a golf club handle/grip to attach to a WII controller - the console home gamer deal.

I believe it works like a real swing when you swing. Not seen myself - but I heard thangs.

I remember like 7 years ago there was a unusual little place where you could play a simulator deal. You would stand in front of a projection screen and swing a club and the output to the screen what be what you done.

There were like 8 screens and in the center of the room was a decent size putting green with various holes with mini-flags and cups. During gameplay when you hit it on the green - the machine would tell you where to go on the actual green and you would putt out for reals.

Just some informationals and such fer ya. I also did a 2-parter video about the history of video golfin games and whatnots.

Yup, was there, did that.  Had that game for over a year.  Family and friends would come over on weekends for tournaments in the den.  Played all the Links courses at the time.

Back in the late '80s, there was a bar in Santa Ana, CA that had a simulator very similar to this one:

    Full Swing Golf

I often took my full set of clubs and bag into the club, and played Firestone, Pebble Beach, Congressional, and Pinehurst, among other Links courses.  It was really a hoot to hit the golf ball into the screen, and then watch it soar down the fairways and then gently fade over into the trees, or bend left into the ruff or bunkers.

We have a short shaft - just 20 inches with the accelerometers and gyroscope electronics all attached to the end of the shaft.  So you can have a real grip and a weighted feel, that should fit in even smaller homes. Or there is an option for just holding the device in your hands, if you can touch the ceilings with just your arms, i would suggest trying it outdoors - with a laptop!

WGT would still be free, but if you want a physical club, then there would be a cost, but it would be no where near that price, I imagine more like $50 - for endless golf! and just imagine WHAT an improvement, a real golf swing, with real golf views, with real players. If you live up north, then this is the only golfing you will be doing for the winter period.
