Come on guys, did you really think this was going to happen. Just need to come up with a new solution for the guys that worked hard to get to the top.

So just start brainstorming to find a solution. The clock is still ticking.  Like they say "organization is the key to success"

Regional get togethers  sounds doable. You have to keep it reasonable, not $200+ . I think WGT will have to supply the point guy/girl as I don't see somebody spending their time and money on this.

Hope you can put something together.

Regional events would not involve WGT charging anything.  We would help with finding players and such.  Then we would send out some WGT Swag to the players that attended.  But no money would be going to us.

As this is WORLD Golf Tour, my tuppence worth from a European golfer!!!!

I know it's just an idea that's being put out there, but how would these regional events be established for us European golfers? Each country as a region, then each country divided up into north, central, south? And more importantly, would Shoe or Icon turn up to the inaugral UK event? lol

    Cheers.

All I see is an attempt from Fmaggs to shoot down a very good idea for WGT and its members.

And whereabouts are you looking to draw this conclusion, you deluded driveller? I am for a well organised Live Event held in Orlando in December, as plainly stated earlier in this thread. I am against a poorly organised, last minute hash of a Live Event as plainly stated in another thread. Who is it that you think disagrees with this?

you deluded driveller?     Typical........    Its ok Fmaggs if you want to get into a name calling contest can I at least get more than 2 months  notice.   LOL   Poor Fella.

As you state above you obviously think 2 months notice isn't enough.    Maybe you need a years early notice.   For the Live Event that you will never make it to anyway.      Came to this conclusion.  Perhaps some of the jealousy that has been heard on this thread is simply coming from players that realize now they should have been more committed to this Virtual Tour all year long.  Since  now they see they may miss out on something.    DW

Very disappointed with this outcome.  This competition was one of the few things bringing me back to the site on a somewhat regular basis.   Also I think the prizes for the finals should be increased as we were dedicating time to these monthly events under the assumption that there was 25k in prizes up for grabs.

How was anyone who would be in the top 4 given 2 months notice. We are just outside of 2 months from when the even would have taken place, right now. We do not know who the top 4 are or would be.

The way it read was that the top 4 from the TL VT would go. The VT ended on Dec 4th and the live event started Dec 5th or something like that. By my count that is 1 days notice, not 2 months.

Now if they did what you recommended and just announced the top 4 now, then sure 2 months would be adequate, but WGT was never going to do that, so noone would have had 2 months notice. Or they could let the VT end on the 2nd of dec and have the live event in January or February.

Just goes back to what others said, wasn't very well organized or thought out.  Good idea just no real plan

We Were given notice this Month September.    That the Event was going to be Held in December.   All it said was the Top 4 Players would be invited and compete.

Never said which 4 Never said where the 4 would be from.  And does it matter?  For all we know WGT would of invited the top 10 TL's and paid for their trips.   Having only the top 4 then compete for the prizes.

Well I for one feel sorry for the players who have stayed dedicated to the Virtual Tour all year.        Was  a small minority of players here who found this WGT LIVE to be a bad thing and has ruined it for us all.

This gamer site is a CASH COW.  If you think for even 1 minute WGT doesn't have the Bank to fund such an Event with or without sponsors.  Then you just keep being gullible like that and WGT owners keep getting Richer.       Goodluck DW

    +1 JS!

Why does this remind me of the custom avatar?

On a serious note, did they really want to let it happen, or was it only a balloon to get our reactions? At least did some of us part of their work, showing the uncomfortable details which would not fit or make it impossible.

And in the end, it reads as if we were to blame just because we did not buy a bubble for 200 $ plus transport + accomodation + ... instantanously.

My last input: Add a sale of the event in the Pro Shop - for 140,000 credits.

Au contraire! It said (and it still says) that the top four TLs as of Dec. 1 would compete, that is before the Virtual Championship. That raises the notice time to 4-5 days.

Where did you get that from?

I read in the official announcment that all contestants attendees would have to pay for their expenses by themselves - ? including the entry fee ?

Plus, can you imagine the money that was spent by all trying to qualify. I know that what looks good on paper has a way of not working out in reality.

I do feel for the guys that did devote their time and effort
