    SweetiePie:

    derekortt:

Get that driver before you get any iron upgrades

Sage advise...by now you know your irons. The addition of a new, longer, more accurate driver does wonderous things at once. It will instantly give you shorter approach shots, more greens hit and shorter putts the first time you play with it.

Indeed, I know my irons.  And I know that I hate them.  A lot.  But, I get that a driver will make a huge difference immediately.

    Thanks, all.

Steve, let me know when you've got your irons, and I'll send you a driver.

    Ade

Really?  That would be awesome.  I'm not above taking hand-me-downs so long as it gets me that extra 20-40 yards!

Yeah, no problem. Let me know which one.

It won't be a hand-me-down Steve, you'll have a wrapper to peel off.  Nice one Ade.  : )

Hey Steve we are in the same C.C and tier I agree a good driver will open up easier approach shots for you I played the level 47 max irons 4 a while they were great, got the level 59 pings g25s  now  with the added trajectory my ball stops with less or no rollout now on the greens spin is good too, the level 48 Taylormade R1 driver is super, great distance(275yrds) and forgiving......

btw Steve the pings g25s are a tad touchy  when missing the ding, the little or no rollout is with 9 iron & p.w in my experience with a descent ball....   still very nice irons....

I actually thought you maybe were going to unload a club you had no use for at first.  Thanks a lot.  You don't see generosity like that often.  I'll be sure to pay it forward.  In the meantime, I'll find someone who can use a decent driver (PING 250yds) and someone who wants an upgrade on starter irons, and in the future, if I somehow come into some credits, I'll help a bloke out.

I've bought the irons, and have my eye on the R1 driver.

    TaylorMade R1 TP 9.0 White Driver (Aldila 65 shaft)(L48+)

    Thanks again, mate.  Cheers.

Just playing a round with the new g25s...and yeah, a tad touchy, but I'm sure I'll get used to them (or die trying).

So, I've officially got myself a new driver and irons.  Thanks to adeypa for the former.

    Class act, indeed.

Now, to make them work properly.

Thanks for everyone's feedback and advice.

    S.
